naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engines
available, for a truly visceral experience.

All that power means nothing if it doesn’t make you feel

something. With an impressive 5.0-liter V8 engine, 471
horsepower,1 and a blistering 4.4-second zero-to-60 time,1,2
the LC 500 is finely tuned to give the driver a full-throttle
experience. Take it up to its 7,300-rpm redline, and the
Active Sport Exhaust delivers a potent, full-throated engine
howl unlike anything you’ve ever heard. Or felt.

A 10-speed Direct-Shift automatic transmission with

magnesium paddle shifters was specifically designed for
the LC. This exclusive transmission has one of the fastest
shift times among conventional automatic transmissions,4
changing gears in 0.12 seconds. Or, half the time it takes
the average human to blink. The system also learns your habits
every time you drive, selecting the optimum gear based on
vehicle speed, acceleration and your driving habits—even
choosing the ideal gear while cornering.

developed specifically for the LC. Uniting dynamic
proportions with ground-hugging luxury coupe elegance,
the front-midship design with a multilink suspension
system delivers the ideal balance in every way—from the
near-perfect weight distribution to the combination
of exceptional handling, stability and ride comfort. Such
equilibrium was achieved by placing the engine’s
central mass behind the front axle, positioning the wheels
close to the vehicle’s outer edges, and lowering the
hood height and driving position. And, when combined
with additional features like available Active Rear
Steering and a rear wing that extends at speeds above
50 mph to enhance downforce, the result is one of
the most direct, precise driving experiences we’ve ever
created—and that you will ever encounter.

The LC wasn’t just about creating the definitive performance car; it was
about redefining performance for Lexus. Which meant going to extremes.
Decades of takumi craftsmanship and a tradition of relentless engineering
and refinement were taken even further. Everything was pushed to the
limit to deliver this high-performance, high-strength coupe. A high-tensile
steel chassis was built to lower the driving position by just 10 millimeters.
Intake valves were made of titanium to make them a few grams lighter. An
available carbon fiber roof was developed to lower the vehicle’s center of
gravity. Lightweight carbon fiber–reinforced sheet-molding compound
allowed the complex shape of the inner doors to be molded as a single piece,
and the outer doors were engineered with 6000-series aluminum that’s
47% lighter than its steel counterpart. Materials were evaluated by weight,
strength, mass and optimal placement. And then reevaluated for one
purpose—the driver’s connection to the road.

in the category. You’ll feel the rush of instant torque the moment you press the
pedal, and continuous, seamless acceleration that increases as the engine power
and vehicle speed climb. Along with the instinctive feel of a 10-speed transmission
through magnesium paddle shifters, the impact of our most responsive, fastest and

exhilaration, the LC demanded a
completely different approach to design
and engineering. A single character
line that took months to perfect. A
total of 700 individual engineering
checkpoints verified by two of our
most skilled craftsmen. An available
high-back sport seat that required over
50 prototypes to achieve the ideal
driving posture. Any sacrifice of design
or performance was unacceptable.
The driving experience ultimately had
to be as inspiring as the final form.

An unwavering attention to detail,
impeccable materials and countless hours
crafting the LC not just for how it feels,
but for how it makes you feel.

No detail was spared when creating the LC. The painstakingly crafted
steering wheel, which provides optimal grip when cornering, is the
result of countless hours of testing and track development with Lexus
takumi masters. Alcantara®5 -trimmed door panels with deep, flowing
lines form a distinctive look and feel. A leather-trimmed shift knob was
crafted from four strips of high-quality leather that were then meticulously
hand-sewn. And ambient illumination accentuates the bold contours
and details throughout the cabin. To take interior comfort even further, a
Climate Concierge system integrates climate control, heated and ventilated
seating as well as an available heated steering wheel. Every element of the
LC was carefully considered to elevate the driver’s connection to the road.
Even the alignment of the driver’s hip point with the vehicle’s center of
gravity was studied carefully. Because extreme craftsmanship isn’t only
about creating an exceptional finished product. It’s about creating an even
more exceptional feeling when you get behind the wheel.

The triple-projector ultra-compact LED headlamps are more than
striking. They’re among the thinnest LED projector headlamps in the
industry.4 Half the size of conventional lamps, the polaric ellipsoid
system combines with the daytime running lights and LED cornering
lamps to create an unmistakable Lexus signature.

A flush-surface door handle with illumination enhances aerodynamics
and creates a sophisticated first impression. When the handle is
extended outward, inset LEDs illuminate the door. As the doors close,
or after 15 seconds, the lighting fades.

One of the most stunning features of any Lexus vehicle to date, the
dimensional taillamps were inspired by the dramatic glow of a jet’s
afterburners. Through the adoption of the infinity mirror principle,
an endless, dimensional motif is illuminated when lamps are on, and
a sleek gray look appears when off. Eighty LEDs on either side create
an even illumination with impressive depth and no visible grain.
