Mantra for good health

DHANVANTHARI MANTRA
Lord Dhanwanthari is regarded as the god of
ayurvedic medicine (Ayurveda) in the Hindu
religion. People pray to Dhanvanthari, asking
him for improved or good health for themselves
and for others. Mantra of Dhanwantari with its
meaning is as follows:

"Om Namo Bhagavate


Maha Sudharshana
Vasudevaaya Dhanvantaraye;
Amrutha Kalasa Hasthaaya
Sarva Bhaya Vinaasaaya
Sarva Roka Nivaaranaaya
Thri Lokya Pathaye
Thri Lokya Nithaye
Sri Maha Vishnu Swarupa
Sri Dhanvantri Swarupa
Sri Sri Sri
Aoushata Chakra Narayana Swaha"

Meaning: We pray to the God, who is known as


Sudarshana Vasudeva Dhanvanthari. He holds
the Kalasha full of nectar of immortality. Lord
Dhanvantri removes all fears and removes all
diseases. He is the well wisher and the preserver
of the three worlds. Dhanvantari is like Lord
Vishnu, empowered to heal the Jiva souls. We
bow to the Lord of Ayurveda.

MAHA MRITYUNJAYA MANTRA


Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is mantra dedicated to
Lord Shiva. It is called Maha Mritunjaya Mantra
because it is a death-conquering mantra.
Sometimes it is also known as Mrita-Sanjivani
Mantra. The Maha Mrityunjaya mantra is hailed
by the sages as the heart of the Veda. This
mantra holds the highest place along with the
Gayatri Mantra among the many mantras used
for contemplation and meditation. The Maha
Mritunjaya Mantra is as follows:

"Aum Trayambakam Yajaamahey


Sugandhim Pushti Vardhanam
Urvaarukamiva Bandhanaath
Mrutyor Muksheeya Maamritaat"

Meaning: Lord Shiva is the three eyed god.


Shiva is always perfumed. He fosters all the
creatures of the Universe. Lord Shiva releases
from death for the sake of immortality, as
cucumber detaches its bondage of the vine. We
worship Lord Shiva to liberate us from death.

Koil, Sirgazhi)

Bakambikesa Vaidhyesa , bhava roga haredusa,


Japen nama thrayam nithyam Maha roga nivaranam,

Meaning:

Goddess Balambika, you are God of doctors, Hara the god who removes disease of
birth and death,
He/she who reads these three names daily, would get rid of great diseases.

For getting rid of diseases (chant this 108 times and apply sacred ash.Disease
would go away .If it is serious repeat for 40 days,)

Achyutha, Anantha , Govinda nama ucharana Beshajath


Nasyanthi sakalaa rogaa , sathyam sathyam Vadamyaham

Meaning:

Achyutha, Anantha , Govinda , after reciting these names,


All diseases would be destroyed, I am telling the truth, the truth.

To get rid of incurable diseases (chant this 1008 times in the morning for 40 days)

Om Nama paramarthaya purushaya Mahathmane ,


Aroopa bahu roopaya , vyapine paramathmane .

Meaning:
Om I salute the Purusha who is the truth and a Great one ,
Who is without form , who has several forms , Who is the divine soul who is spread
everywhere.

To get cured of poxes (To be chanted 108 times for three days , for the sick man
by another one,
Standing in water )

Vandeham Seethalaam devim rasabasthaam , digambaraam,


Marjanee kalasopetham visphota kavi nasinim.

Meaning:

I salute the Goddess Sitala(cold one) sitting on a donkey , wearing the sky as cloth ,
Who holds in her hand a broomstick and a pot , who would cure all poxes.

To get rid of diseases of the eye (to be chanted 12 times daily , 108 times on
Sundays and first day of the Sanskrit months,
And should be offered Sakkarai Pongal (Jaggery rice) to god)

Vivarthano Vivaswaam cha Marthando, Bhakaro Ravi,


Loka prakasaka , Sriman Loka Chakshu Maheswara,
Loka Sakshi , Trilokesa , Kartha , hartha thamiraha ,
Thapana Thapanaischaiva Suchi Sapthaswa vahana ,
Gabasthi hastha brahmanya sarva deva namaskrutha ,
SAreera aarogyadaschaiva Dhana vrudgi Yasaskara.

Meaning:

The transformer, one who shines , bird of the sky , the one who lights ,one who
bestows,
One who lights the world , the eye of the world , the great lord,
The witness of the world , The god of three worlds, the doer, the destroyer and killer
of night ,
He who heats he who cools , the pure one, one who rides on seven horses,
He who has shining hands, one who has realized Brahman , one who is saluted by all
devas,
He who improves health , increases wealth and fame.

To get rid of diseases like epilepsy and fainting (Chant 108 times)

Gurave sarva lokanam, bhishaje bhava roginam,


Nidhaye sarva vidhyanam, Dakshinamurthaye nama

Meaning:

Salutaions to thr God of South,


Who is the teacher of all the world,
Who is the doctor for all diseases,
And who is the store house of all knowledge.
