ENTRY AT UNMANNED CONDITION

1. Inform duty engineer & the duty officer the purpose of entry.
2. Switch ON the dead man alarm system.
3. Perform the duty or task and reset the dead man alarm point nearest to you.
4. Once you are finished with your work, switch off the dead man alarm and inform duty engineer
and duty officer.

ENTRY INTO UNMANNED MACHINERY SPACE IN CASE OF ALARM

1. Acknowledge the alarm from panel in accommodation. Avoid using elevator to engine room in
case of alarm.
2. Upon entering engine room ensure that the dead man alarm has activated automatically.
3. Upon reaching ECR acknowledge the alarm & inform duty officer regarding approximate time
taken for action to be taken.
4. Take necessary action and reset the dead man alarm from nearest location.
5. Upon completion of work, before exiting engine room switch off the dead man alarm & inform
duty officer.
