Teen stress rivals that of adults. (n.d.). Retrieved from

https://www.apa.org/monitor/2014/04/teen-stress.
This source is explaining the stress levels in teens and the factors that can raise a teens
stress throughout the year. Throughout the article, it compares the polls of stress levels of teens
and adults on a ten point scale. This article talks about the mental health of teens as a result of
stress, such as depression or anxiety, or feeling overwhelmed. This article also talks about the
effects of stress in teens when it comes to health behaviours, how stress affects eating, sleeping,
and exercise, as well as how too few are managing their stress. This article can prove useful to
my research strand because it is talking about the stress levels in teens, using polls and data, as
well as how stress can present itself. I can also use this article to compare my research and data
when compiling my essay.

Horowitz, J. M., & Graf, N. (2020, January 5). Most U.S. Teens See Anxiety, Depression as
Major Problems. Retrieved from
https://www.pewsocialtrends.org/2019/02/20/most-u-s-teens-see-anxiety-and-depression-as-a-ma
jor-problem-among-their-peers/
This source is great for statistics regarding the stress levels of teens, and ranked the
different types of problems U.S. teens see on a daily basis. This source talks about one of the top
issues that stresses teens out and breaks it down into the different things about that particular
issue that stresses teens out. Most importantly this source recognizes that teens can see anxiety
and depression throughout the population of their peers, and has polls/statistics to support why
they are seeing depression and anxiety in their peers. This source is very useful to me because it
gives me the polls of many different topics that I can reference against my own survey. I can also
compare the statistics from this website to statistics I see from other sources.

6 Common Triggers of Teen Stress. (2019, August 19). Retrieved from

https://www.stress.org/6-common-triggers-of-teen-stress
This website is talking about the common triggers of stress in teens, not just the effects of
stress on teens but how stress comes about in teens lives. This source also provides explanations
regarding the six common triggers of stress in teens. As well as the common triggers and
explanations of stress this source also provides an idea of what the signs of stress are and how it
presents itself. This source is helpful for my capstone because it gives me an idea of what stress
looks like in teens and how it can present itself in different ways. I was reading the article and
realized that a large portion of the triggers and signs were similar to how I’ve been feeling lately.
I feel like the majority of my peers feel the same way as I do, maybe some of them are like me
and don’t even realize that they are showing signs of stress.
Stress in America™ 2019 - American Psychological Association. (n.d.). Retrieved from
https://www.apa.org/news/press/releases/stress/2019/stress-america-2019.pdf
This article talks about the stress levels in American adults, and the different factors in
their everyday lives that contribute to their stress. The things that stress American adults out are
much more different than the things that stress teens out. In this article it says that elections and
mass shootings are the biggest stressors in the lives of American adults. I thought it would be
useful to cross reference the factors that stress adults against the things that stress teens out. I
also wanted to see if the signs of stress and triggers are the same for adults as they are for teens. I
think this source could prove very useful when it comes to comparing the stress of adults against
the stress of teens.

Stress Management and Teens. (n.d.). Retrieved from

https://www.aacap.org/AACAP/Families_and_Youth/Facts_for_Families/FFF-Guide/Helping-Te
enagers-With-Stress-066.aspx
This source isn’t really focusing on the factors of stress in teens but it’s more focusing on
stress management and how teens can cope with their stress in healthy ways. The source
provides the common things that can stress teens out but it also gives examples of things that can
help relieve stress, and how teens parents can help with relieving their teens stress. This source
can prove very helpful for people who are looking to manage their stress instead of dealing with
it in an unhealthy way. This source will be very helpful for my capstone project because I want
to talk about how teens can improve and manage their stress as well as the common factors and
triggers that stress teens out. The whole point of my capstone is to help teens recognize their
stress and how to deal with it in a healthy way, and this source will be a great resource in helping
me achieve my goal.
