Answer:

In this study, the required sort of design to be used is Experimental. We know that Experimental
design defines that research hypothesis is our prediction of how specific variables might be
related to one another or how groups of participants might be different from each other.

This study requires an observation by two groups of people with the same materials and
methods. It could be an Experiment 1 and Experiment 2. Showing them the different pictures or
letting them go in a place with scary things such as noisy sounds like in the horror house, pictures
and other horror related materials. For us to know their causal relationships between the two
variables, we need to manipulate one of the variables systematically and see its effects in other
variables or how it affects each other (variables).
Moreover, on the table presented above, only the Experimental design has the characteristics to
manipulate Independent Variables, allow to select random participants to group and to analyze
the results by comparing the two groups.

Therefore, to know how individual differences in paranormal and conspiracy beliefs are related
to perceptual and attentional biases, Experimental Design needs to be used in this study.
