Undocumented

Immigrants in
Concentration Camps
The federal government should prohibit the separation of undocumented families at

the border because the practice creates mental health crisis, cost the government money ,

and have been proven to be ineffective at curbing chain migration.

Mental Health
The separation of kids from their families near their border is absolutely frightening for a
child who is alone in a new country, addition to that these kids are kept in cages treated
like animals they barley get served food, they do not have no kind of blankets.
Costing the Government Money
According to an official from the Health and Human Service (HHS) holding a
migrant in the “Tent Cities” cost around 775 per person and night. Therefore this is costing
the government major money issues, Taxpayers will have to pay hundreds per family due
to the policy. The government is losing more money trying to separate the families instead
of keeping the families together and losing less money. Due to the Zero Tolerance plan
signed by Donald Trump it separates families who get caught trying to pass the border
illegally.
Ineffective Due To Chain Migration
In the United States many undocumented families try to cross the border hoping for a
better life or more chances, When a few undocumented families crossover the border
encourages others to do the same and crossover that is what Chain migration is. According
to CIS “Out of a total of nearly 33 million immigrants admitted between 1981 and 2016,
more than 20 million were chain migration immigrants (61 percent).”
Conclusion
The United States Government should prohibit the separation of undocumented
families at the border because it creates mental crisis , cost the government excessive
amounts of money , and it’s proven to be ineffective due to chain migration.
