THE ART OF LIVING ON THE ARTS


BOOTCAMP FOR MUSIC,PERFORMING ARTS and
ARTS MANAGEMENT STUDENTS
Tallinn, Estonia 23-27.04.2020

ActInArt – the Nordic Baltic network for promoting entrepreneurial thinking in the arts, invites students to
apply for an intensive course in Tallinn, Estonia located in beautiful settings of the south part of Finnish
Bay. The camp will be hosted by the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in Laulasmaa, a remote
village on the Baltic seaside.

For five days students will engage in an innovative artistic laboratory involving a wide range of teaching and
learning methods such as mentoring, lecturing, group work and open practices. Participants will explore
and investigate questions such as:

- Who are we as artists / arts managers, and how can we move where we want to move?
- How can we connect our creative potentials and competences to real life projects?
- How do we as artists act and engage in our contemporary societies with all the challenges these are faced
with?
- How do we build our career for sustainable work life?

The key words for the course content are: Idea development, international laboratory, networking,
facilitation, group work, study visits, INTERDISCIPLINARITY, forest gateway, career sustainability.

The elaborated content of the bootcamp will be developed based on the needs of applying students and
will be facilitated by competent teachers and researchers from the ActInArt network.

PRACTICALITIES:
Time: 23-27 April 2020 (arrival in Tallinn already on 22nd since we begin on 23rd early morning!)
Place: Laulasmaa and Tallinn, Estonia
Level: MA and BA
ECTS: The bootcamp is offered as an elective course worth 5 ECTS credit points. At NMH these 5 ECTS
will be recognized as 3 ECTS.
Economy: Travel, accommodation and food will be covered by the network.
Application: Send a motivation letter (max 1 page) introducing your artistic background and what you are
aiming for in your professional future. Explain why you find it relevant to your development to engage in the
bootcamp.
