Poster evaluation:

This is my poster for Kingdoms of Valour. I went with a desert theme with a medieval spin off
hence the dragons and swords. I chose the desert because its different, individual and
stands out from the rest. The logo design I feel sticks out due to the big, bold logo in the
middle. I chose the logo by asking people which one they preferred out of 5. I whittled it
down to 2 designs: a shield with ‘Kingdoms of Valour’ written on the inside and a sword with
‘Kingdoms of Valour’ written through it:

When designing the logo, I tried to make it so the sword went through the shield. However, I
did not like the result. I tried to re-work it so the sword was on the shield itself. It worked but
the wording and sword was squished onto the shield. I decide to get rid of the shield
altogether and end up with the final design seen on the poster.

The poster is designed to appeal to the younger audience, however there is an adult appeal
to it also with the dragons and sword. With the layout of the poster I designed it, so the logo
was at the front and standing out and the dragon and castle stood out but weren’t to ‘in your
face’. With the colours I’ve gone for a cartoony look but there is also a realistic sense as
well.
