Basketball

Aim:
 Students line up in groups of 3 behind the
baseline with 3 attackers and 3 defenders.
 The attacking students perform a 3-man
weave as shown in diagram up to half way.
 The 3 defenders leave the base line and walk
to the middle of the half court.
 Once the three attackers have reached the
half way, they turn around and attack the
goal against the three defenders.
 If the ball goes out, the defenders win, if the
ball is scored, the attackers get a point.
 The roles reverse and the attackers become
the defenders and the defenders become the attackers (Note: there may be an extra
team on each half court allowing for a rest to be added to the rotation).
 The team with the most points after a certain amount of time wins.

Equipment:
 1 basketball per half-court
 3 bibs per team
 1 basketball hoop per half-court
 4 cones, 1 per corner (if there are no previously marked lines).

Rules:
 Normal basketball rules apply, for example:
o No running with the ball without bouncing it
o No double dribbling the ball
o 3 passes must be completed before shooting
o Have to shoot after 10 seconds

Playing area:
 Half a court per group of defenders and attackers
o Note: If there are extra students, an extra team per half-court can be made to
allow for a resting time.
