I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of a 60-minute period, the students will be able to:
1. Describe incomplete dominance of Non-Mendelian inheritance
2. Create a punnett square of incomplete dominance
3. Appreciate the phenotypic expression of incomplete dominance
Code: S9LT-Id-29
II. SUBJECT MATTER
INCOMPLETE DOMINANCE

C. Science Ideas
Incomplete dominance is when a dominant allele, or a form of a gene,
does not completely mask the effects of a recessive allele, and the organism’s
resulting physical appearance shows a blending of both alleles. Thus, the result is
a third phenotype.
D. Processes
Describing, creating and appreciating
E. Values
Students will appreciate the expression of incomplete dominance inheritance
in the field of genetics. Creativity, teamwork and collaboration of the
students will be enhanced since they will be working in groups in a given
activity.
F. Unlocking of Difficult Terms
Allele- a certain form of gene.
Genes- the basic physical and functional unit of heredity
Genotype-the chemical composition of its DNA , which gives rise to the
phenotype, or the observable traits of an organism.
Heterozygous trait- is a mix of the dominant and recessive
Homozygous- an identical pairs of gene for any given pair of heredity
characteristics
Phenotype- observable physical characteristics from the genes and the
environment
Punnett square- a diagram that shows the possible outcomes of breeding
between two individual

1. Greetings
Good morning class! How are you Good morning ma’am!
today? That’s nice to hear that. We’re fine ma’am.
2. Prayer
Before we start our lesson for Yes ma’am.
today, let’s have a prayer first. Lord, thank you for this wonderful day
Can I request somebody to lead the that you have given to us. Bless us and
prayer? guide us in everything we do and we
are hoping as we end this class, we
may acquire knowledge that can be
use in our daily lives. Amen!
Thank you for the prayer.
3. Checking of Attendance
Is everybody present today? Yes ma’am.
Very good!
4. Checking of Assignment
In your assignment, I told you to
give me the non-mendelian
inheritance. So, what are these?
5. Review of Past Lesson
Let’s try to review what have you
learned about mendelian
inheritance. Describe the
phenotypic ratio.

All your answers are correct! Since you help
the sleeping princess to be awakened and free
from spell, I will continue what happened to
the story.

Very good. So, who can compare the result Ma’am, the first filial generation will
between the first and second filial generation? have a result of 100% pink or an
intermediate phenotype resulting from
blending of two alleles while the
second filial generation will have a
result of 1:2:1. One for red, the
homozygous dominant allele, two for
heterozygous pink, and one for
homozygous recessive white.
Instructions:
1. Answer the activity I give to you. Write your
answers in the cartolina.
2. Assign one or two reporter to present your
output on the class. Yes ma’am.
So, I will give you 8 minutes to do your activity
and 2 minutes to present. Is it clear? Expected outcome:

IV. EVALUATION
Instruction: choose the letter of the correct answer.
1. Which is not an example of incomplete dominance?
a. A pink flower produced from red and white flowers
b. A flower that is both red and white produce from red and white flowers
c. Curly-haired and straight haired individuals producing wavy-haired offspring
d.A highly spotted dog and a non-spotted dog producing puppies with a few spots
2. A rose shows incomplete dominance; when a red-flowered plant is bred with a
white-flowered plant, the offspring are pink are pink with the phenotype Rr. If these
pink individuals are crossbred, what will be the ratio of their offspring?
a.1:2:1 red, pink, white b.1:2:1 red, spotted, white
c.3:1 red, white d.2:1 pink, red
3. You have an offspring of 100, if the ratio is 1:2:1 red: pink: white, how many will
have a phenotype of red?
A. 25 b. 50 c. 75 d. 100
4. Based on number 3, how many will have a phenotype of pink?
A. 25 b. 50 c. 75 d. 100
