I- Objectives
At the end of the lesson, 85% of the students are expected to:
a. identify the main idea and supporting details of the story
b. value the moral lesson of the story
c. perform the scenario of the story

II- Subject Matter


Topic: Main Idea and Details and The Story of the Rainbow
Reference: Linda Ward Beech and Indian legend by Anne Hope 1978
Materials: laptop, DIY book, DIY wall

III- Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
A1. Greetings and prayer
A2. Arranging of table and chairs
A3. Checking of Attendance

B. Motivation
The teacher will show a picture and students will give their viewpoints based on the questions that
the teacher will be asking.
1. What are the colors of the rainbow?
2. Do you believe in a saying that there’s a rainbow always after the rain?
3. If you were blind, how are you going to describe your beauty of rainbow?

C. Presentation/Discussion
The teacher will first discuss about main ideas and supporting details and how it is important to
identify in a paragraph or story like the story of the rainbow

D. Activity
The students will be grouped into 3, distributed to them the content and dialogues of the story of the
rainbow and let them perform the scenario of the story

E. Analysis
The teacher will let the students explain the functions of each color in the rainbow, in the
environment and in our lives.

F. Abstraction
The teacher will ask students to give the main idea and supporting details of the story of the rainbow

G. Application
The students will create an appreciation letter to the person who serves as rainbow in their lives.

IV- Evaluation
Directions: In a one 1/8 sheet of paper, write your hashtag true colors of me, post it on the DIY wall
and share it in the class.

V- Assignment
In a short bond paper, draw what is your version of rainbow colors. Be creative as you can.
