NOSTALGIA

Nostalgia is a feeling that can evoke various emotions at once. It's odd yet
fascinating. It's both beautiful and sad. It's incomprehensible and it hits differently but it's
a feeling that most of us are all too familiar with.

Nostalgia is a sentimental yearning for something in the past. It can be triggered

in different ways; it can happen when you encounter something or someone you haven't
seen for a while, it can occur while doing something you've done long before, it can also
transpire from recalling treasured memories, and by merely listening to one of your past
favorite songs. Anything that you have a distinct and fond memory of, material ot not, as
long as it makes you want to live in that moment again, then it could give you a sense of
nostalgia. Once nostalgia hits, it's as if you can feel the emotions you've felt in that
particular moment again, and that's what makes it fascinating. However, nostalgia is
only a fleet of happiness because when you're done reminiscing, reality hits and makes
you realize that you could never relive that part of your life again, no matter how badly
you want to.

Looking back through one's memories can both be beautiful yet somehow
destructive at the same time but once you learn how acceptance works, then you can
appreciate the art and essence of nostalgia. Although it's a feeling that doesn't always
bring happiness to an individual, it's necessary in order to remind oneself to keep
moving forward because there's no turning back.
