Be a student of the National University of Colombia

The National University of Colombia is the best institution of higher education in the
country and one of the best in Latin America, that is why being a student of this
university has both, advantages and disadvantages. Over the years, this university has
obtained prestige due to the academic contributions it provides to the country in
multiple areas and to the training of undergraduate and postgraduate professionals
with extensive capabilities to solve problems that arise daily, but in whose thinking is
promoted the change in the search for a better society.

Thousands of national and international awards make this university a unique place,
which opens the doors to the best students and professors from different countries of
the world, provides opportunities for growth as integral people, offers the apprehension
of new knowledge with the possibility of making exchanges to meet new cultures and
languages, and promotes extensive work options for recent graduates.

However, it should be recognized that the reputation of the students of the colloquially
known, the nacho, in some occasions is bad, because many think and judge that the
members of this institution only dedicate themselves to forming revolts in situations of
tension, and to propitiate evil and revolutionary thinking that always brings problems
such as the destruction of public and private goods.

In spite of these prejudices, it is very gratifying to say, I am a student or I graduated

from the National University of Colombia, which gave me great opportunities to meet
unique people who became my best friends and colleagues for a lifetime, and to share
with students who have different thoughts in all areas of knowledge, from human
sciences to pure sciences, and from arts to engineering.
