After spending some time watching a movie titled “The Marva Collins Story”, It gives

me a sense of realisation regarding the fact that how crucial it is to have a strong determination,
as how it was portayed by Mrs. Collins when she uttered with abundance of faith in herself
about making the school work. She carries this belief so gracefuly that it makes me reflect on
how I tend to lose track in having determination upon achieving something I put my mind to.

I am ashamed to admit, but i remember this time vividly back when i failed to get a
good academic result that i am hoping for. I feel like all those walls that i build up for my
future torn apart. I am in delusion of not believing in myself and have lost my determination to
keep striving. This is exactly the opposite of what Mrs Collins presumes competence in all her
students. She deeply knows that kids that labelled ‘incapable’ are actually capable. She
determined boosting her students’s confidence and shows them that they are capable of
graduating, and becoming a successful human be it in work or as a human in general. I say to
myself that nature has cunning ways of finding our weakest spot and therefore it takes
determination to see a dream come to pass.

Thus, from what I’ve witnessed based on Mrs. Collins’s true nature and from what I
have personally experienced, I can conclude that having a strong determination is a must for
every human being. This is because once we are determined in what we do, it is no doubt that
we will obtain whatever we aim for. This can be proven through Mrs. Collins’s situation and I
personally believe that the scene from the movie has given me the deep understanding that I
should always be determined in achieving my goals despite the obstacles that come in the way.
