Course: 3ro “C” How Samsung become the world's largest mobile phone maker? Many of the companies that we know today, no matter how successful they are, went through difficult times to become what they are now, for do this they had to pass a process of constant transformation, a clearly example is Samsung, this company made a lot effort in order to innovate in the market that they operate increasing and gaining worldwide recognition to obtain a greater market share, so in this way the company could beat their closest rivals like Apple and Motorola. With an increasing market share they could enjoy a lot of benefits such as the loyalty of their customers, a better product development with the motivation of the workforce and a great margin between them and their nearest rivals. Samsung managed to consolidate itself as a company gradually reaching out to expand to other countries but to do this they had to produce high quality products to please people; in 1993 Samsung suffered a very important transformation that was one of the mains keys of the successful of the company, from a second-tier TV manufacturer Samsung became the biggest and most powerful electronics manufacturer on earth. But it required for the company go from a high-volume, low-quality manufacturer to a high-quality one, even if that meant sacrificing sales. Samsung had the vision of being prepared to face the world, a risky decision that was extremely beneficial for the company. Samsung it’s dominant in TVs and sells a lot of washing machines, but it’s smartphones that made Samsung as recognizable a presence around the world Samsung Electronics is the largest part of Samsung, a conglomerate that accounts for 17 percent of South Korea’s gross domestic product. It employs 370,000 people in more than 80 countries. As a company Samsung is a clearly example for another companies in the way that they have become one of the most recognized brands around the world, gaining a greater position in their specific and specialized market that mainly is the smartphones industry; with their innovation and the effort of their CEO they could make face to another big brands like Apple.
