LEARNING EPISODE 7

Interview

Answer

1. I am using rubrics during evaluation of the outputs of the students for

interpreting students’ work against criteria and standards.
2. Using rubrics makes teachers’ evaluation more objective since scoring is
more precise which is in line with the criteria and standard. When there
were no scoring rubrics yet, I tend to give scores based on the standards
I am giving that the student should meet and I am giving them a single
score for the output – I am referring to a holistic rubric.
3. The difficulty I usually encounter in using rubric is that I need to prepare
it ahead of time so students are aware of the details that they should.
4. Yes. Analytic rubrics identify and assess components of a finished
product while the holistic rubrics assess the totality of the output and
focus less on the details.
