CHAPTER IV

A. ACCOMPLISHMENT AND CONTRIBUTIONS

We have many lessons that we learned about the work of an Engineers in

Electro-Mechanical Section (EMS). We did our part us trainees, we did the things they

asked us to do. During the training, we studied about the manuals and the blueprint of

the Dam/Power plant. It involves electronics, mechanical and electrical works. As per

the training, we studied about the manuals of automation like the Solenoid Valve,

different relay’s and how to read the blueprint and Schematic Diagram of a Dam. We

tackled also the Switchyard which passes the high voltage electricity in to the other Sub-

station, the spherical valve which can allow to flow the water from reservoir going to the

Kaplan Turbine and can produce electricity from the massive generator. The generator

can produce 14.6KV and converted to 69KV from the power transformer. We studied

also how the water becomes electricity and we understand it clearly.

B. COMPETENCIES GAINED

B.1. KNOWLEDGE

I learned a lot of things during our stay in the company. The theories and

concepts we acquired from the school became more interesting for it was appreciated

when we’ve applied it in the actual work condition. We had a better understanding of

the fiber optics connection, IP configuration and also programming. These are very

useful for me that I can use in the future.

B.2. SKILLS

B.2.1. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

My socialization skills were enhanced with our stay with the company.

We’ve learned to adapt with different types of people since we worked in different

departments. We learned the value of professionalism and ethics in work.

With my stay in the company it eventually boost our self-confidence and

self- esteem. It gives us the courage to stand and present in front of our

supervisors.

B.2.2. TECHNICAL SKILLS

I was able to understand the function of the control room and learned how

to configure the server. I had an improved skill in programming and so with

wireless connectivity.

B.3. VALUES

I learned to be passionate on doing something and not giving up. Along the way, you

may find a reason to give up but it’s very important to know the purpose why you started

it at the first place. Next, I learned to value time, I realized that when you work you need

to finish a lot of things in a short period of time. Third, I learned to be patient and adapt

with others to have a harmonious relationship. Fourth, I learned the value of

professionalism and respect in the workplace. Lastly, I got to know the importance of

being responsible in the task given.

C. IMPACT TO FIELD OF SPECIALIZATION

As a fresh graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering, we are

afraid of the things that may happen and were worried of our future. Hence, this training

helped us to be ready if we pursue the track of being ECE. In an Electro-mechanical

Company/agency, this is one of the tracks we can take. After the training, we are

equipped with knowledge that we can use in getting a work. This training might be an

easier way of finding a job in any Electro-mechanical company/agency.
