Preventative Measures Of Hypertension Complications

ABSTRACT
Hypertension is a cardiovascular disease which is the main cause of mortality in the world and
causes heart attacks, strokes and heart failure. Complications of hypertension can be very
dangerous because it does not need to be considered, there needs to be knowledge about
hypertension to avoid complications. Cross sectional research methods. The research sample of
71 people. The sampling technique uses consecutive sampling. The results of the study were the
average age of respondents 57.8 years, female gender 50.7%, the last education elementary/
equivalent 56.3%, the type of entrepreneurial work 38.0%, long suffered from hypertension an
average of 3 years, comorbidity was diabetes mellitus 62.0%, low knowledge level 73.2% and
bad adversity measures 64.8%. There was a significant correlation between the level of
knowledge about hypertension complications and hypertension complications (p=0.0001).
Puskesmas nurses who support the community health check trying to improve education for
patients with hypertension and families about complications of stroke, heart failure, diabetes.
Puskesmas nurses need to improve education, evaluation and monitoring of hypertension
complications prevention measures.
