TECHY YOUTH IN A DIGI-WORLD

Technology can be perceived today as developing. In today’s era, technology has made

remarkable tools, equipment, and resources that make human life easier, simpler, faster, better,

and lived for fun. But where would it bring the youth?

There are two sides to every single story and with the case of technology, there’s the

good and the bad.

The driving force behind the fast growth of technology has been the ability to make the

internet more available. Originally, the internet was designed to just be used for research

purposes but slowly made the transition into the powerhouse that the people are enjoying today.

Moreover, the youth has lost the traditional manner of communication whereas they can now

manage to just speak with their household members through social media and not any more

through verbal means. During ancient times, you had to write a letter to connect with someone.

Letters would take days or even months before it is delivered. You also have to trace the letter to

see if it had been sent to and received by the person you sent the letter. However, there is no such

phenomenon today as made sure by science and even technology. What you have to do if you

want to communicate with someone in society today is to send them a message on social media

or put a call through. As the saying goes, the internet connects us to the people who are far away,

while moving us away from people whom we are close with.

Now let us look at the other facet of technology. Having been one of the most influential

tools in today’s society, technology plays different advancement in different fields such as

business, communication and relationships, purchasing, banking and etc.

Technology has been able to help people to communicate with one another without hassle

through the use of social media apps such as Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, Twitter and the
like. Paying is not any more tough with the online stores where you can do e-payments with

Paypal, Cashalo, and the like. Banking has also become much easier. Nowadays, e-banking has

become so simple without any fears of getting robbed.

Technology’s use can’t be measured as it shapes the future and it can help to make it

compatible with nature. Technology is not only about itself or more proficiency and discovering

new methods and processes. We need to add art which is about to make wise choices for the

future of technology. We should not develop technology for the sake of itself, but to develop it

because it adds value to society and simplifies human life.

This issue needs to be discussed with experts from many fields and we have to relate the

technology to the organization and the culture in which it should operate. And we should always

remember that there are no side effects as they are part of the technology.
