Name of school observed

The school is not that far from highway, you only need to walk a few meters
from the road. The school is surrounded by few houses around. School is far from noisy
environment that could distract the students in studying. I did see different kinds of
colors such as green and yellow. There are lot of buildings, most of them are old some
of them are newly build. Some of the rooms are being occupied by more than one
teacher; the school needs to build additional buildings for the use of those teachers who
are occupying the rooms of other faculties. The cafeteria is always cleaned and healthy
foods are the only thing that is being sold. The school is still in need of facilities such as
home economics and industrial workshop area room which can help the students.
WALL DISPLAYS There are lot of quotations posted on the
wall of every room, list of class officers,
and food for taught.
TEACHER’S TABLE It is brown in color and in every room
there is two tables which is located in the
front and back of the room.
LEARNER’S DESKS In good condition and all of the desks are
occupied by the learners
BLACKBOARD Simple blackboard that is horizontally
arranged and it is located in front of the
class
LEARNING MATERIALS Their learning materials are k-12 module.
It is a new learning material from
government. Some of visual aids were
from the teachers
LIGHT BULB There are four and all are working
CEILING FAN There are 2 fans in every classroom.
Some are not in good condition.

It was February 27, 2020 when we started our first observation in accordance
to Field Study subject. Our group was assigned to certain classroom and observes
everything that is related to students learning. We are instructed to fill up everything that
corresponds to our target and goal. I saw the interaction between the teacher and the
students. I have also observed that the students were actively participating in their class
and they were always complete with regards to their attendance. They talk and chat
with each other with minimized voice to avoid distracting the class. All teachers were
very effective that’s why all the students were studying.

Analysis
School campus and classroom plays a very significant role in helping students
to go to school. I believe that it is very encouraging to attend a school if classrooms and
school ambiance is presentable. It gives additional motivations among students to study
well.

It is very essential and relevant because this can serve as a tool and instrument
to be used in inculcating learning among students. In this sense, students will he able to
attend class frequently since they will feel more comfortable while accessing education
and learning.
Reflections

1. Yes, because all students are actively participating in every lesson. I supposed
I will not have so much difficulty in reiterating my lessons among my students
because they are impressive, brilliant and intelligent. Lastly, the good
relationship between students and teacher makes me feel good to teach in the
school where I have just observed.

2. When the school campus is pleasant to the students at the same time
establishments near the school should not offer activities which distract them
from studying such as computer shops, bars, billiard place and other
recreational places. School campus must maintain disciple and safety. School
that promotes rules and regulation is a way to improve the quality of learning
that the environment will provide.

3. The classroom is conducive to learning when it is well ventilated and free from
any kind of distractions. Facilities must be present in the room which students
needed for them to learn effectively and efficiently. Classroom should be in
good condition, safe and not too crowded for students.

4. I will be a teacher that will teach my students the knowledge that they need to
acquire for them to be prepared to face to cruel world. I will see to it that they
will learn every lesson that I will discuss. I’ll be resourceful and creative when I
structure my classroom. I will make sure that my classroom is well organized.

5. The subject helps me to learn everything necessary for the students to become
future educators. The ability to observe classroom condition will help me to
become about how to achieve good and effective school environment and how
to provide the learners a classroom that is conducive to learning.

Portfolio
An effective school environment is one that offers to students the opportunity to
achieve high standards that they use in their future. A school where student feel safe
anf happy; and an environment that will promote those values that will help students to
become good and responsible citizens, enables them to become involved in their
community and become good family members.
An effective school environment should be a place of no cultural, political and
religious boundaries and students be able to express their ideas. Environment that is
structurally built in strong, clean and free from noise will help students concentrate and
study better. Complete educational devices in the classroom will make it much more
conducive for learning.
The school must follow characteristics that help the student to become a good
individual. The school must have a complete and well maintained facilities for students
to learn.

 Students are conscious

on their physical looks.
 Knows how to write
poems, letters, essays,
stories, etc.
 Doing all things by
himself
 Competitive in class.
Loves to talk with
teacher.
 Do have many friends
because of pleasing
personality.
 Gets easily annoyed if
someone teases him.
 Already knows how to
manage his
feelings/emotions.
 Friendly to everyone
and communicates well.
 Thinks very well and
love problem solving.

19
Students are used to talk Therefore, teachers should remember to have
with their circle of friends. some activities that will help the students in
socializing with others.

20
1. I think everything they had now is similar with what I also have during the same
age. The only difference is teachers have enough patient with the learners
today, maybe because they are following the law “no corporal punishment”,
unlike in old times if students commit mistakes the teacher will punish them
immediately, so I can say that old kinds of students are very much well behave
than todays present learners.
2. Mr. Lope Lobos is one of my teachers. He is very funny person. He teaches
well at class. He helped me build self-confidence and understand lessons
which I find it very difficult. He has reminded me the importance of having a
goal in life. He helped me developed my skills and improve my knowledge in
that particular subject. Because of his way of teaching, I was able to show what
I can do and express myself to others confidently.
3. After careful observation, the difference in their abilities becomes very
noticeable. I was able to pinpoint the level of performance of the target students
to be observed. Many were active participants and some were shy and too
passive.
High School are mature, they are very careful with their acts, maybe they are
ashamed if they are caught by their teacher whenever they are talking with
seatmates. They are curious now with their physical appearance and the way they
talk to other people.

26
1. Some of the students are noisy while the teacher is discussing their lesson,
but most of the students are listening. They are 14-15 years old.
2. There are 17 boys and 33 girls.
3. Most of students can manage their behavior but some of them cannot
control their noise.
4. Most of the students are still depending their answer with their seatmates.
5. The students exert more effort in listening especially when their teacher is
discussing their lesson.
6. They listen very well to their teachers’ discussion
27
1. There are some books located at the back and they are arranged in order.
They also have chalk box in the front beside the table.

2. Cleaners of the day.

3. Their teacher said that most of the students are following the rules but some of
the students are not. For those who are not following the rules the teacher gave
additional work to do for those who do not listen.

4. The teacher starts the class by the opening prayer that is lead by a particular
student to be followed the greeting from the teacher and students. Next is the
attendance, calling of names of the students who are present.

5. The students are allowed to seat wherever they want to.

6. While the teacher is discussing, most of the students are noisy and some are
listening.
7. When the teacher is discussing and the students are not listening at all, she will
immediately stop the discussion and will remind the students to be quiet and
listen.
8. The teacher reinforces the learners by giving a positive feedback to students
answers.

In every class there are students that a teacher cannot easily get the attention while
discussing specially when they are bored and there are some distractions on them. So
as a teacher, I need to be enthusiastic in class so the students will be interested to
listen.

30
1. Students as time goes by, they will be bored in class since the same thing is
happening every single meeting. There are nothing that excites them anymore
to listen and study.

2. The teacher must be always enthusiastic in entering the classroom for students
to be encourage to listen. He/she must also think of different kinds of ways for
students to digest the lesson easily.

3. An important component of your behavior management program is starting

your class rules. How you introduce these rules is equally important, this will
set the tone for the rest of the school year. Introduce your class rules on the
first day of school. These rules serve as a guidance for students to follow
throughout the year. A popular behavior management plan most teachers use
is called the “Turn-A-Card” system. This strategy is used to help each child’s
behavior and encourage students to do their best. In addition to helping
students display good behavior, this system allows students to take
responsibility for their actions.
31
1. As I imagine myself organizing my classroom in the future, I see that I be
handling high school students. If I want to handle high school students I will do
routines or procedures that will surely suit their age range. For example when
the class starts, pray first before anything else. After prayer I will share some
stories related to the topic and recall what is discussed in previous meetings. I
will also provide few minutes for rest because during this stage of the learners
they will surely get tired as time and activities pass by. Rest minutes will help
them to regain their energy.

 Uniform of the students should be worn properly

 Shool I.D. should always be present.
 Boys should observe proper haircut.
 Boys and girls should observe proper hygiene all the times.
 The students should raise their hands if they want to say something.

I chose these set of rules so that the students will observe cleanliness, and being
orderly so that the students will be able to be responsible of their own being. I
would also like to promote unity inside the classroom and good relationship
between myself and the students.

2. Yes. For the main reason that they will be the one who will be benefited and will
follow these set of rules. And they should also be aware of these rules so that
they will know their limitations.

33
Yes, they should. Students must be involved making the rules but of course with
the guidance of the teacher. What I mean is they must how rules should be done
and if it would help effective learning to happen. You know, studentd are ones
concerned with these rules that’s why their ideas are very well welcome.

Students would be far better off mentally if they were allowed to help in the process
of creating classroom rules. If the experiment were taken even further, the students
could use the rules that only they created and learn how their own rules do not
meet the requirements necessary to maintain a healthy learning environment.
Ideally, students, teachers, and administrators would help to create a complete list
of rules.
37
NUMBER OF STUDENTS: 50
AGE: 14-15 years old
GENDER: Male and Female
RACIAL GROUPS: Waray
RELIGION: Roman Catholic

1. There are two (2) interactions between the teacher and the students it is
the verbal and none verbal communication. The teacher used the verbal
and none verbal communication so that the students will understand more
about the subject, and the students will gain more knowledge about the
subject.

2. As I observed the learners sitted at the back and the front part of the room,
they behave and interact differently because the learners sitted at the front
is more participative than the learners at the back.

3. The relationship between the learners and the teacher inside the class is
good because of the way the teachers gives the lesson; the teacher has a
good sense of humor. The learner always participates in the class
discussion.

4. The students participate actively is learners sitted in front because they

always give their ideas and knowledge about the lesson. The students ask
more help is the learners sitted at the back because they don’t understand
very well what the teacher is saying in front.

5. If the students are called by the teacher and cannot answer the teacher’s
question, his/her classmate help his/her because they are close to each
other. They also raise their hand so that the teacher will call them.

OUTSIDE CLASSROOM
The students group themselves outside the class by their gender maybe because they
easily understand each other.

The learners interact with each other the way they interact inside the classroom. They
always make some conversation that is related with their lesson and other matters.

40.
1. The person who plays the key roles inside the classroom is their teacher
because the teacher is the one who facilitate the students by means of class
discussion and recitation to build the camaraderie teach the student.

2. The student that comes from the minority group is rejected in the classroom
because of their size and the way they interact with the other students.

3. The teacher influences the class interaction between the individual differences
of the students by grouping them in the different homogenous aspects. The
teacher has a sense of humor in order to have a class discussion that is not
boring.

4. The factors that influences the groupings of the learners outside the classroom
is their new surrounding because they can meet new friends outside the four
corners od the classroom.

41.
1. As I’m inside the classroom I feel that I’m also part of the teaching-learning
process of the students inside the classroom. I feel the sense of unity between
the students and the teacher because the students give respect to their teacher
and to me as an observer inside their classroom.

2. In the future, the learners in my classroom should interact by means of giving

ideas and knowledge about the said topic, and always participate on the class
discussion and have companion with one another. I will make this happen by
using my knowledge and skills and apply it to them. Share my experiences
when I was a student.

As I observed the class, I noticed the different abilities of every learner. There
are students who are listening very eagerly to the teacher and very much intersted in
tye subject matter, there are some who talk to their seatmates and also discuss some of
their businesses; others are very vocal of what they wanted to express making them a
little bit noisy.
While observing, I noticed that those learners in front are very attentive to their
teacher and communicates more and have more interaction in the class. While those at
the back has their own discussion and some are just quiet.
According to the teacher, one of the students who is very active during class discussion
is a girl o lives in a nice place, while one of the students who is quite noisy at the back
lives in a not peaceful place.
Their behavior is very different maybe the reason behind this is their socio-
economic status. Just like if a student lives in a place that is harmonious and happy to
live in surely he or she will adapt and cope with this kind of environment and on the
other side if a pupil is used to be raised in an environment where conflict attributes this
may have a huge effect on the learner.
The teacher provides right assistance to those who need support the most. The
teacher is very approachable which is very good because the students will not be able
to be shy to ask for help.

48
1. Yes of course my observation matched the information given by the teacher. I
certainly idetified those students who performed well and not so actively
performing well. The behavior helped me identify the well performing students
is that they are very fond of raising their hands when the teacher asks them
several queations about the subject matter, and I be able to identify those
students who are not so good in class by means of when the teacher asks
them a particular question they wouldn’t be able to answer the question and
they just remain quiet.

2. Those students who perform well in the class have the ability to easily
understand and cope up with the lesson while those students who performed
not so well takes a longer time for them to understand the lesson. There’s a
gap but it is not wide enough, because as is said it only takes time for some
students to understand the subject matter but on the bottom line they still can
cope and join as others are doing.

3. The methods used by the teacher in class in handling the students wether high
or low achiever is very fair. The teacher addresses the class as a whole and
not by making her students think that there is a huge barrier among those
students who performed well than those students who performed well than
those who are not.

49

1. When I was in high school my teacher used to treat us fairly. She is very
effective and approachable because she helped on the things that maybe
difficult and hard for us. For instance when some of us didn’t catch up a certain
topic discussed, our teacher would glady repeat it all over again just to make us
understand the lesson. Our teacher also cites more examples for us to master
the topic. She is not a quitter which is very admirable for a teacher she will not
stop unless all of the class understands the topic.
51 portfolio
In the future as I will be teaching the next generation, I will never forget this desire of
letting the understand all of the lessons. It is not enough if only some can fully
understand it. It must be the class as a whole because all of them deserve equal and
right treatment.

 During the pregnancy of the mother, there are times that she suffered mild
fever but thankfully everything goes well.

 The child is fine at birth. She didn’t encounter any serious health problem.

 She started to walk at around one and a half years old and started to talk some
words like “pa” and “ma” at the same age.

 When the learner is still an infant she used to breastfeed by his mother followed
by supplement milk and when is already an toddler she is intriduced to some
easily digested meals; and now during her childhood years she prefer eating
vegetables and fruits.

 It was the parents who took care of her.

 She is friendly and very active in school.

 Her playmates are her classmates.

 Yes, she was allowed to play outside after finishing all of his home works and
household chores.
 Yes she is allowed to go out with her friends.

 She is allowed to go out with friends as long as they are near the house or
within their barangay only.

 I expect that my child would be a responsible child in terms of academics, I

would also like that my child would be active in extra-curricular. He/she can find
true friends in life that will help him/her in everything that he/she do.

 I will do everything and give everything for my child; I will support all his/her
decisions in life but of course there will always be limitations in anything that
he/she does.

 Yes the child goes to her father whenever she has a problem in school or with
her friends. Her father is the one who comfort her.

 The father simply talks to his child and tell some words of wisdom that will
make her daughter feel better.

 The child is being disciplined through constant reminders given to her from time
to time.

 Yes they have rules such as: no fighting with your siblings and a schedule time
for household chores.

 If they break the rules they are the one that should resolve it. Rules are
imposed strictly so that they can learn what is right or wrong in everything they
do.

 The child is interested in adventure. She likes to go on different unknown

places when she has free time.

 She is good in some subjects, particularly English.

 She finds Mathematics a little bit difficult.

 The father can monitor her performance by asking the child what happened the
whole day and by asking the results of quizzes when they have. Her father
motivates her through helping on assignments and projects.
 Yes. She should finish all of her responsibilities like doing her homework and
her mother will check it.

59
 She has a fair complexion, she is slightly thin but her height is appropriate to
her age. She is healthy and no serious illness.

 She is sociable enough because she go out and mingle with her friends. She is
also a sweet to her parents and siblings.

 Emotionally she is quite well. She is not shy when it comes on expressing what
she wants, feels and think.

 On cognitive development she is good. She exert efforts in academics and

strives hard to understand the subjects and lessons.

 In my findings about the child, I learned that she is raised by her parents in a
conducive environment, her father stands as the provider of the family.

 I conclude that the school and home contributes a great impact in developing
the cognitive, affective, psychomotor and so as to the total personality of the
learners. Hence the learning of child begins at home. However, school plays a
vital role in molding the child.

 For the parents, they are responsible in guiding and disciplining their children.
They must be open with their children.

60
1. The home that I interviewed, the practice of authoritative style of parenting is
enforced. The parenting habits of Filipinos that is directed to their children,
corporal punishment is prevalent and is the most common method to discipline
their children.

2. The family factors that contribute to the development and over-all adjustment of
the learner in school is first, the emotional-moral development; on how the
learners are nurtured by her parents, second is the economic aspect and status
of the family, and last is the socio-cultural background of the family.
3. Learner can absorb the way they communicate in their home, they can bring
this in school which reflects how the learner nurtured and reared by her parents
at home.

60.
1. In my own experiences, the type of parenting style is authoritative style. They
have a clear and reasonable expectations and limitations for us. They
encouraged us to join any school activities depends on our skills and interest.
They always told us the old saying “Do not do unto others the things that you
don’t want others do to you.

2. As a future teacher I intend to be, I will build a good working relationship to the
parents. The collaboration would be a great help in regards to home-school
link. I will make certain that they will do their part in providing the needs of their
children.

Constantly remind parents that their children are an investment and the only
thing they can impart on their children is knowledge and education. What they
can achieve in life will directly impact the family over-all.
I will work with the parents it is through the parents that how I will go about their
child. I can help by informing them of the child’s progress and performance in
school.

As a person, helping someone achieve their dream is like; they have something
that I myself can no longer achieve in my current capacity. Seeing someone
surpass you in one field specially your own student is an accomplishment.
When I teach, my goal is to try to push my students to achieve their goals and
their dreams anyway they possibly can.

As a future educator we must be very careful in handling our learners. In

Sigmund Freud’s psychosexual theory he stated that conflicts that occur during
each of these stages can have a lifelong influence on the personality and
behavior of a child. As a teacher we must have several techniques and
strategies that would help the learners meet and complete the stages in order
to become a better individual. The teacher should serve as the facilitator of
learning and be the one to motivate the learners in order to push through and
achieve what they want in life.
Home and school are partners in molding and shaping a child. They should
work hand in hand in order to monitor the progress of the learner. Parents must
make a follow up on the lessons of the child at home for them to be guided and
for the learners retention. If parents are active then there I a greater chance of
having a successful child in the future.
