How would you apply the philosophy and core values of DDC to your profession?

The Davao Doctors College is dedicated to nurturing and upholding a positive


learning, working and social environment which promotes quality and respect. The
institution firmly believed that life is valuable and this is the reason that the school has
dedicated itself to allied health education and this belief is capsulized by the Latin
phrase “Aestimamus vitam” which means “We value life”. Moreover, the institution’s
values are acrostically anchored to the term LIFE wherein it stands for liberty to learn;
integrity; fortitude; and excellence respectively.

Radiologic technology is a profession oriented toward the diagnosis and


treatment of trauma and disease. This means that the radiologic technologist or
radiographer will work in intimate contact with people on a daily basis. I as future
Radiologic technologist I must be prepared to work collaboratively with people of all
cultures, religions, and socioeconomic backgrounds and to relate to them in an
unbiased, nonjudgmental manner.

Thus, I as a Radiologic technology student, I must adhere and bind myself to the
school’s philosophy and core values by inculcating and adhering in conduct and
behavior to the particular ethical and legal standards of the field. In my future profession
as a license Radiologic technologist, I must work and interact with the other health care
profession whose goal is to improve or restore the patient to good health. I must work
within my scope of practice and be accountable for performing my professional
responsibilities someday.
