central focus of children’s literature for years, starting to decrease in the postmodern
years, when equal emphasis is given to aesthetics (Coats, 2001)..

Translation has meant not only the transfer of the works form those systems that have
been traditionally dominant in the field of children’s literature to the Spanish system,
which has facilitated the revival of the field by means of new techniques and topics, but
also the highlighting of ideological confrontations in studies of translator behaviour.
