At this measuring voltage the partial discharge is measured and is recorded in column IV of Table -1, ulse Residual test: The nominal discharge current of 10kA is applied by adjusting the Impulse voltage generator to deliver the specified current at the required wave shape of 8/20us, The residual voltage across the arrester is measured through a voltage divider. The reference voltages on each of the arrester units are found to be greater than the rated voltage of the arrester. li) Measurement of Partial Discharge: All the arresters were subjected to this test. The measured values of PD of each arrester unit are found to be less than the specified value of 10Pc. iii) Measurement of Residual Voltage at Nominal Discharge Current: All the arrester units were subjected to this test at Nominal Discharge Current (10kA 8/20) wave). The measured values are found to be less than the Max. Specified value & Counter operated at given current impulse, lv) Seal Leak test All the arrester units and surge monitors were subjected to seal leak test by differential pressure/ Bubble method. The units have passed the test without any leak. v) Visual Examination and Dimensional verification: All the arrester units and accessories were visually examined and found to be free from any visual defects.
