diesel engines and <= 250 HP for gasoline engines EMISSIONS CALCULATOR
GAS & DIESEL INTERNAL COMBUSTION spreadsheet (aka Small Engine spreadsheet)
(used ONLY for diesel engines ≤ 600 HP and gasoline engines ≤ 250 HP)
For RATING and FUEL TYPE - select engine rating by fuel input or horsepower (HP) power output and applicable
fuel type into dropdown box in cell J22 and then enter the associated numeric value for the selected RATING and
FUEL TYPE into cell I22.
For SULFUR CONTENT OF DIESEL FUEL (%) - If diesel fuel was selected as the RATING and FUEL TYPE for the engine
above, then enter a value the sulfur content (% sulfur by weight) of the diesel fuel. The default value for sulfur
content is 0.0015%. Update the default value in cell I24 if the facility uses the following:
- ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD), value remains the same (% sulfur by weight, equivalent to 15 ppm)
- low sulfur diesel (LSD), update value to 0.05 (% sulfur by weight, equivalent to 500 ppm)
- diesel fuel oil, update value to 0.5 (% sulfur by weight, equivalent to 5000 ppm)
For ACTUALS (GALLONS COMBUSTED OR HRS OF OPERATION) – Select GALS COMBUSTED or HRS OF OPERATION
in cell J34, then enter gallons of fuel combusted or hours of operation for the year into cell I34.
For REQUESTED ANNUAL LIMITATION (GALLONS COMBUSTED OR HRS OF OPERATION) - Select GALS COMBUSTED
or HRS OF OPERATION in cell J37, then enter gallons of fuel combusted or hours of operation for the year into cell
I37. For emergency generators, enter 500 hours of operation for the requested annual limitation.
Guidance for the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR GREENHOUSE GAS (GHG) EMISSIONS
No data input required. Update default values as applicable.
After all INPUT information has been entered, then click the OUTPUT tab to read the calculated ACUTAL
EMISSIONS and POTENTIAL EMISSIONS values.
GAS & DIESEL INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES with power rating of <= 600 HP for diesel engines and <= 250 HP for gasoline engines
EMISSIONS CALCULATOR REVISION 2/26/2016 - INPUT SCREEN
Instructions: Enter emission source / facility data on the "INPUT" tab/screen. The air emission results and summary of input data are
viewed/printed on the "OUTPUT" tab/screen. The different tabs are on the bottom of this screen.
