Batten down the hatches

By: Sheyne I. Espinosa

Truth found through actions not by his/her sugar coated words. To be a leader you must

be flexible, knowledgeable, courageous and have a strong principle in life. Make a decision not

only for your cost but to all the people in your country.

As I am watching the interviews of the two former Presidents of the Philippines, Corazon

Aquino and Ferdinand Marcos, I set aside my biases and had a favourable criticism. While

Corazon Aquino is speaking I can't help myself but to laugh. I feel humiliated for herself, she

keeps on talking, demanding, and complaining about the Marcos Administration's corruption

activities without any evidences to be presented. She keeps on blabbering with no sense, as if

she has her background experience in running a government as we all know that she is a widow

housewife without any knowledge of being a leader. Filipinos on that time got a sleep from a

lullaby sang by Corazon Aquino, either, their eyes and mouth were covered by a paper bills.

Millions of people are still under the spell of the wicked witch who charmed people to be on her

side.

On the other hand, Ferdinand Marcos plays a good game in century. He leads the team-

Philippines, to be on top and play with honesty and wisely. He may not be a perfect coach and

made a mistake but he made a history that makes us, our country can be proud of. He maybe

has a tongue like a knife, but in that way he protected the Filipinos from other countries by on

his power and perseverance.

Let’s wake up from a very long sleep. Let our eyes be open, and let our voice be heard.

If we want change, then think wisely and understand what is happening in our country today. Be

vigilant enough to know who are really traitor of our very own country. Let us not live from a

mythical world and be fraud again by another wicked witch, let us all be a coach in ourselves

that helps everybody to win the game and be on top again. Let ourselves be prepared to create

another century.
