SCOPE AND LIMITATION

The scope of this proposed system will be from the start of the newborn’s general data
information, up to the physician’s notes including diagnosis and medications. The proposed
system will offer convenient access to health care providers since they are able to input easily,
track, and monitor medications given to the newborn patient as well as providing safe keeping
record process.
The Newborn Care Electronic System (NCES) is a computerized system that will provide total
documentation that incorporates newborn’s general data information including the case number,
primary caregivers’ information, assessment data’s, and physician’s notes with diagnosis and
medications. Usernames, passwords, ID number, type of user, and department code will be
required upon logging-in to maintain its confidentiality and ensure that only approved and
selected healthcare providers are able to access the system. However, the primary caregiver may
have the consideration to access the newborn’s information limiting to ‘View only’ option with
the control and supervision of a registered health care provider in the department.
