The Primary Research is conducted at “Uma” the retail store of Asian paints.

It is
located at Infocity, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

1. How many retailers are there in Gandhinagar?


 There are around 3-4 retailers/ dealers.

2. From where do you get the products as per the orders?


 Asian Company warehouse is located in Bavla, Gujarat (outskirts of
Ahmedabad). From this warehouse the products are delivered through trucks
to the respected dealers or retailers.

3. Do you have any vendors to supply Asian paint products?


 No, they do not have any vendors for the distribution of products. Asian
paint has its warehouse at distant locations. From the warehouse the
products are delivered to the store and dealers. The distribution channel is
very simple as there are no in between distributors or mediators.
4. How much time does it takes for the products delivered from warehouse to
the store?
 It takes nearly 4-5 hours for the delivery of products from warehouse to the
stores. If the store orders by 12 pm then by 4-5 pm they receive their ordered
products to their store.

5. How do you handle the customers orders if there is a truck strike and the
orders gets delayed to reach to the store from the warehouse?
 Their delivery system is very much hassling free. Even during the truck
strike their orders doesn’t stop from getting delivered from the warehouse to
the store. The company has an alternative transportation solution (other
vehicles – tempos, van) which will deliver the products to the store. There
can be the chances of 1-2 hours of late delivery but not more than that.

6. Does Asian company have any application from where you can order your
products?
 Yes, the company has an application called “Myawaaz” this application is
made for the dealers and retailers to order the products through online
application.

7. Is this application “Myawaaz” efficient to order products?


 Yes, this application is equally efficient and there is a group of staff who
handles this app efficiently and hence it is easy to order the products. The
store uses both the mediums while placing an order from the company-
online application – “Myawaaz” and the other is call, to place the order.

8. How frequently do you re-stock your products?


 They re-stock their products everyday and also the quantity of the products
depends on the orders of the customers. They know their usual demand of
the customers and predicting their demand they re-stock their products.
9. Do you have inventory space at your store?
 They do have their inventory space in their store. It is a very small area
where they have kept their products and also they have displayed their
products on the front end.
10.How do you stock different types of shades and tints of the paints as per the
customer requirements?
 As the color demand is un-predictable most of the time, hence they order
white color from the company. This white color is then colored/ converted to
different shades and tints as per the requirements and demand of the
customer through the coloring machine. Every retailer and dealer have this
color machine which saves time and also helps in saving the wastage of
different shades of paints ( Postponement Strategy)
