From ‘SCHOOLS DIVISION SUPERINTENDENT Subject LAMDAG PARADA-PARADA SA PASKQ FIESTA Date 0.8 DEC 2017 The Davao City Local Government in cooperation with the Davao City Tourism Operations Office and HQ Productions will be holding the Lamdag Parada — Parada sa Pasko Fiesta featuring the PARADA NG MGA PAROL the lighted floet competition and BANDA DASIG ~ Crum and Bugle/ Drum and Lyre Band Competition on December 22, 2017. Attached are the letter of Invitation, Competition Mechanics and Criteria for Judging trom Harold L. Quibete, Event Chair Lamdag Parad 2017 inviting Secondary and Elementary Schools of this Division to perticipate and join the City on its Yuletide endeavour. With the humble request from the organizers of this activity, selected schools from Davao Central District, Sta. Ana District and San Roque District to be identified by their respective District Supervisor will be used as billeting quarters of the provincial contingents composed of 100 — 150 participants from December 21-22, 2017. QUIBETE SA DAVAO 1a Gil St., Davao City 8400 Philippines LIFE 1S HERE THE PASKO FIESTA SA DAVAO LIGHTED DRUM AND BUGLE/DRUM AND LYRE BAND COMPETITION COMPETITION MECHANICS: this competition is open to all Davao City and provincial (nearby cities and provinces) school-based drum and lyre/drum and bugle bands with a minimum entry composition of 40 members and a maximum of 100 members only the entry should be composed of a marching band(percussion, snare, tenor, and bass drums, and cymbals) with the bell lyre section consisting of bell lyres, the glockenspiels, vibraphones and marimbas and a COLOR GUARD; pit and indigenous instruments may be included the entry's performance should be themed according to the PASKO FIESTA sa Davao Celebration; thus 70% of the repertoire should be composed of Christmas songs the entry shall showcase a “LIGHTED” band (costumes and props) over and above the grand musicality of their repertoire to enhance the theme of the celebration hand held props may be used: but the use of canned music and mechanical and/or electronic instruments are Strictly prohibited the entry shall fill up the official entry form and should provide an endorsement letter from their principal: provincial entries should secure an endorsement letter from their mayor as well all musical instruments and props should be manually carried and the use of vehicles is strictly prohibited CATEGORIES: A.) ELEMENTARY B.) OPEN (HIGH SCHOOLICOLLEGE/COMMUNITY) the entry shall assign bearer (in costume) of the official entry ID that should be displayed in front of every performance for judges’ identification; other signages, banners, logo display that promotes branding shall not be allowed and may constitute the entry's disqualification Band and the guard's steps and choreography should be progressive all throughout the parade to facilitate the continuity and preserve the momentum of the parade. Kick off point shall be at Roxas St. with each entry performing a 2 MINUTE TEASER PERFORMANCE on every STOP OVER (satellite competition site) during the parade and a full competition repertoire of not less than 6 minutes and not more than 8 minutes during the culminating Grand Showdown at the Rizal Park in San Pedro St.; each entry will only be given 2 minutes to ingress and two minutes to egress on every competition site. Two long horn blows will signal the start of the performance and a whistle is blown by the floor director for any violation of the entry’s ingress and egress time allocation 2 sets of Judges will be deployed during the competition - Marco Polo Hotel (Roxascor CM Recio Sts.}, and at the Rizal Park for the Grand Showdown (San Pedro St.) inclusive of the mobile judges on the streets during the parade Final entry scores will be derived from the following: a) 30% of the 2 minute at the Marco Polo, parade& street performances and 70% of the Grand Showdown at the Rizal Park; ranking system will be applied Performance and performers’ SAFETY is a MUST; Davao City Local Government shall not be held liable for any accidents brought by the negligence and irresponsibility of participating entries.
