Applications of Matrix

This Project examines matrices and two of its applications. Almost every branch of physics including
classical, mechanics, optics, electro magnetism, quantum mechanics and quantum electro dynamics,
matrices are used to study physical phenomena such as the motion of rigid bodies.

Matrices are nothing but the rectangular arrangement of numbers, expressions and symbols, which
are arranged in columns and rows. Matrices find many applications in scientific fields and apply to
practical real life problems as well. Thus, making an indispensable concept for solving many practical
problems.

A matrix is a rectangular arrangement of numbers into rows and columns. Make your first
introduction with matrices and learn about their dimensions and elements.
Matrices are used much more in daily life than people would have thought. In physics related
applications, matrices are used in the study of electrical circuits, quantum mechanics and optics.
Engineers use matrix to model physical systems and perform accurate calculations needed for
complex mechanics to work.

Matrices (linear bounded operators on finite dimensional vector spaces) the spectrum is finite and
each of its elements is an Eigen value. The spectrum is a compact set and countable and it is
contained in the reals. Every non-zero element of the spectrum is an Eigen value with finite
multiplicity.
Many applications of matrices in both engineering and science utilize Eigen values and sometimes
Eigen vectors. Control theory vibration analysis electric circuits, advances dynamics and quantum
mechanics are just a few of the application areas.
