Phonics: Write the words chimney, chief, brief, field, shield in a complete sentence that shows you understand the meaning of the word.

Reading: Read 40 minutes and record on your reading log.
Science: Plan to make a musical instrument made from common household items. Examples: toilet paper roll, paper plates, rice, rubber
bands, etc. Prepare to present on Friday.
Math: Find three household objects of different lengths (examples: remote control, pencil, spoon, etc…) Put the three objects in order from
longest to shortest. Draw and label the results in your homework notebook.
Reminders
March 27th – Trip to See Mulan. Please send in the money as soon as you can. We only
have a certain number of seats reserved and it is first-come, first-served.
Children must be in school uniform EVERYDAY- Light blue polo shirt, navy blue bottom
For your child to eat breakfast, he/she must be in school by 7:30 AM. Otherwise, children should be to school by
7:45 AM. Instruction begins promptly at 8:00 AM.
Homework is an important review of learned concepts. Be sure that your scholar completes all homework
every day! Absent students must complete homework for the day(s) they are out of school.
Encourage your child to read every day. Thirty minutes or more per day will help improve
reading levels. Encourage your child to stop and retell story events after one or two pages of reading. After
your child reads, have a brief discussion of the reading.
In phonics, we are working on long e (sound) words made with ie and ey and y. Review blending words with these sounds.
We will be writing Summaries this week. Students will write stories that include characters, a setting, a problem and a solution.
