MCN | Individual Activity #1 | Case Study Analysis

Mikaela Bernadette Jiz de Ortega

1. Aggressive behavior is often associated with individuals with Fragile X Syndrome. The
aggressivw behavior is usually described as being violent and unpredictable. It is relatively
common in children and adults because this behavior is sensitive to to sensory stimuli and it
could be triggered by heyperarousal which causes a person to diminish the ability to control
their behavior thus a person manifests aggressive outbursts. On the other hand, frequemt
moving of places is also a significant factor that contributes to the behavioral challenges of a
person due to difficulty of handling new changes, environemnts and transition of an individual’s
life.

2. Yes it is fair for Stanley to know the condition of her fiance because they’re going to be united
as one and they will soon to have a children who might be genetically inherited of the fragile C
disorder. And it is that Gabby carries a gene of fragile X syndrome which can be inherited by
one of her children. A mother who carries fragile X has a 50% chance of passing the mutated
gene to each of her children. Her children will either be carriers or they will have fragile X
syndrome. The fragile X permutation can be passed silently down through generations in a
family before a child is born with the syndrome.

3. It is unlikely for Gabby to become a detective, if she has fragile X chromosome. In fact,
people with FXS usually experience a range of developmental and learning problems and it i in
appropriate for her to be in that job. And maybe, Stanley should rethink of getting married with
Gabby if he is thinking to the future of his kids and his family because the disease is a chronicor
lifelongcondition and it is genetically transmitted.
