Research Paper Guidelines

Research Paper Assignment: Write a minimum 1000-word paper on a topic related to

common-practice chamber music.

1. Be sure to cite at least 2 composers and SPECIFIC chamber pieces related to your
topic.

2. Your discussion should also include the importance of your topic (composers,
pieces, ensemble, style, etc…) in the genre of chamber music and clearly explain
why it is important.

3. The paper should be double-spaced in Times New Roman 12.

4. The paper should include your name, class, and a title.

5. A MINIMUM of 3 sources must be cited correctly (APA, MLA or Chicago) and

may NOT include Wikipedia. (Hint: use you text book & electronic sources)
ANY idea that is not your original thought should be cited. This includes score
examples, YouTube clips, websites, and audio recordings.

6. The paper is due Tuesday, March 10 by 11:59 pm.

7. Use Turnitin on Sakai to upload your papers.

8. Papers MUST be turned in on time to be accepted.
