Physical Fitness 

SUMMARY: students in this lesson will be able to perform various types of folk dances. They will also be
able to demonstrate various skills, describe how they can be transferred to other activities, and be able to
apply various locomotor or manipulative skills to these activities. Lastly, they will be able to work
cohesively to achieve a common goal against opposition.

CONTENT STANDARDS
1.1 Identify and demonstrate square dance steps, positions, and patterns set to music. 
1.2 Create and perform a square dance. 
 2.1 Describe and demonstrate how movement skills learned in one physical activity can be transferred
and used to help learn another physical activity. 
2.6 Develop and teach a team game that uses elements of spin or rebound, designated offensive and
defensive space, a penalty system, and a scoring system. 
5.2 Organize and work cooperatively with a group to achieve the goals of the group. 
1.4 Apply locomotor, nonlocomotor, and manipulative skills to team physical activities. 

Project Instructions:

Students in groups of 4 will record a video project that encompasses all the skill learned in the Soccer Unit.
They will record short clips demonstrating the skills learned during the unit, and demonstrate offensive
and defensive strategies with opposition. All team members must appear in at least 1 of the 5 skills clips,
and must contribute to the project. Students must also either narrate or use text to illustrate what each
clip is demonstrating as well as directing the viewer what to watch out for. Additionally, students narration
should include means of improving the overall performance. Video may be created on YouTube, TicTok, or
any other media platform, must demonstrate at least 5 skills, and be 2-5 min long. Credit will be based off
the finished product, and further factored by peer participation review. Skills must be assessed using
Soccer Skills Assessment rubric. Submit link or MP3 file to submission form.
