INTODUCTION

Teeth play important role in human body. It play an

overall nutrition and general health. Teeth enable us to

chew to be able to chew our food properly and easily, so we

can eat healthy foods we love and digest them properly.

Sometimes our teeth become yellowish because of what we eat

it might not easy to remove.

They claim that mineral in the banana peel (such as

potassium, magnesium and magnesium) are absorbed by the

teeth making it whiter. The effect of banana peel in teeth

is an interesting aspect for study, nowadays there are

numerous whitening products being sold/or available in the

market with a higher price and that the reason why we

conduct these problem “The Effectiveness of Banana Peel as a

Teeth Whitener” to make a homemade whitening product to help

every people that cannot avail in the market.

 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of

Banana (Musa Acuminata) peel. This study focus to answer the

following:

1. What is the property of banana peel?

2. How long it will take to see the result?

3. The effectiveness of banana peel in whitening

teeth.
HYPOTHESIS

The following hypotheses were formulated to this study.

NULL HYPOTHESIS:

1.Banana (Musa Acuminata) peel has no significance

effect as a teeth whitener.

2.The banana peel is no effective in a whitening teeth.

ALTERNATIVE HYPOTHESIS:

1.Banana peel is effective as teeth whitener.

2.Banana(Musa Acuminata)has a significance effect

as a teeth whitener.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

We thought of an easy and time saving way of

whitening by using the properties of banana peel. This study

will benefit to the following:

RESEARCHERS: The research were able to conceptualize a easy

way of whitening.

FUTURE RESEARCHERS: This will serve as their guides in their

future research if their research is related in our

research.

COMMUNITY: It can help other people that cannot afford to

buy a whitening teeth product and we reuse the banana peel

because banana peel is one in main ingredient in our

problem. They will help their problem in whitening because

of the properties of banana peel.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

 The main focus of our study is to test the

effectiveness of banana peel as teeth whitener and to help

people that have a problem to how it make white and shine

their teeth. The banana peel has a component of potassium,

magnesium and manganese in which it can help the teeth to be

whiter and shiner. This study will be conducted on the year

2018 in the month of November in the province of Camarines

Sur.

 BANANA - a tropical plant of the genus Musa, certain

species of which are cultivated for their nutritious

fruit

METHODOLOGY

Research Design and the Purpose of the Study

This chapter presents methods and procedures that were

used to attain valid and relevant results for the study.

The main purpose of this study is to determine the

effect of Banana Peel (Musa Acuminata) as a teeth whitener.

The specific experimental design used in the study was

the single-group design in which a group of subjects are

administered to a single treatment.

The researcher used complete randomized sampling design

in gathering samples. This design in which group of test

humans is studied only once.

Data Gathering

Preperation

The peel of Banana fruit was bought to Pili Public

Market, Pli, Camarines Sur.

The test conducted using 10 respondents from different

places in Camarines Sur to know the effectiveness of banana

peel as a teeth whitener.

 When the researcher was finally ready to conduct the

experiment, they gathered their materials needed to be used.

Necessary the information was obtained from thesis books,

dictionaries, encyclopaedias, journals and internet for

online searching.

Materials:

Banana (Musa Acuminata) Peel. The banana peel is used as a

teeth whitener.

Toothbrush – Toothbrush is used to brush the banana paste in

your teeth.

Procedures:

Preparation of the Banana Peel

First pick or choose a ripe banana with no spot and

gently peel off the back of it, that is, removing the real

banana fruit from it.

Steps Using Banana Peel

Rub the chosen banana peel in the inside of the banana

peel against your top and bottom teeth. Do this for about 10

minutes non-stop, just like you are using the peel to brush

your teeth. Never mind if your teeth get coated in a layer

of banana paste.
After 10 minutes, take a dry toothbrush and use it to brush

the banana paste (which the peel must have left) into your

teeth. Do not add toothpaste to the brush. continue this

process for 2 weeks, you will see significant improvement on

your teeth.
