Cyber Security (Minor)

The Minor in Cybersecurity is open to all majors and is designed for students who have a technological interest in
Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Cyber and
Security Studies, and Criminology with the goal of enabling them to work with cybersecurity software, services, and
hardware infrastructure. The curriculum is structured around technology both hardware and software to provide
students with a technical background and hands-on experiences to address ever-evolving cybersecurity challenges.

Required Courses:

Electronics and Computer Technology (24 credits):

● ECT 168 - Computer Design Technology 3 credits * OR CS 256 - Principles of Structured Design 3 credits
● ECT 231 - Digital Computer Logic 3 credits
● ECT 373 - Introduction to Data Communications and Networking 3 credits *
● ECT 374 - Information System Security 3 credits **
● ECT 376 - Data Forensic Analysis Technology
● ECT 384 - Advanced Cyber Security Technology Management
● ECT 394 - Ethical Hacking and Vulnerability Assessment
● ECT 474 - Incident Response and Disaster Recovery
