Managerial coaching has become a widely used managerial practice to improve various employee
outcomes within organizations. However, existing literature lacks empirical evidence regarding the
effectiveness of managerial coaching and less known about that how managerial coaching
influences subordinate feedback orientation through mediating effect of employees’ commitment to
the supervisor among Pakistani banking sector employees. The 450 surveys were sent to
employees, and 257 employees responded to the survey with a response rate of approximately
57%. The structural equation modeling analysis revealed positive and significant paths from
managerial coaching to subordinate feedback orientation and affective supervisory commitment,
and from affective supervisory commitment to subordinate feedback orientation. The main
contribution of this study is the linkage between managerial coaching and affective supervisory.
Furthermore, this study is a new piece of research about the association between managerial
coaching, affective supervisory, and subordinate feedback orientation. This research also provides
implications for managers and leaders, specifically looking to improve various employee outcomes
through managerial coaching in the workplace.
