The entity that regulates the banking activity in
panama is the Superintendence of Banks of Panama
and some of their function are:
 Ensure that banks maintain solvency and liquidity
ratios determined to meet their obligations.
 Strengthen and foster conditions conducive to the
development of Panama as an international
financial center.
 Promote public confidence in the banking system.
 Develop the provisions of the banking regime.
 Impose the corresponding limitations on those
who exercise the banking business without being
specifically affected.
 Exercise the functions that will be assigned by the
laws of the Republic.
