Network Architecture
• Lab 2
Spring 2020
Objective
There are many network design tools and methodologies. These tools let you place
Internetworking devices connect them with local-area network (LAN) or wide-area
network (WAN) media. The analyzing a customer's requirements and selecting
devices and media based on those requirements, Good network design must
recognize that a customer's requirements embody many business and technical
goals including requirements for availability, scalability, affordability, security, and
manageability. Many customers also want to specify a required level of network
performance, often called a service level. To meet these needs, difficult network
design choices and tradeoffs must be made when designing the logical network
before any physical devices or media are selected. The objective of this lab is to
utilize Microsoft Visio, is network architecture software that can be used to
represent processes, workflows, networks, office organizations, data flows, cause
and effect diagrams, timelines, floor plans, charts, and more. This booklet covers
the creation of a network diagram and topology .recognize that a customer's
requirements embody many business and technical requirements, goals and
constrains.
Lab Task: Network Architecture – Draw CCQ Network system using M-Visio
tool
Network engineering experts has figured out and identify college requirements
related to network design as shown in the network design figure below.
Draw a local area network (LAN) diagram for CCQ Westby as new network system.
(Noted: the network diagram below shows some network devices; you need to draw
a network diagram that meet CCQ- WB requirements.)
3. The basic network diagram template includes standard shapes for servers,
computers, and other parts of your network.
5. To find the right template to start from, go to File > New and, in the search
box, type Basic Network Diagram or
10. From Computers and Monitors or Network and Peripherals, drag device
shapes onto the drawing page.
11. Attach devices to the network or Ethernet shape by using the shape's built-
in connectors:
12. From Network and Peripherals, drag the Legend shape onto the drawing
page.
13. To edit the text in the Legend shape, double-click the text that you want to
change, and then type.
14. To add text to a network shape, click the shape and type.
