Active tray area - 60kg/m? or the process liguid head defined as twice the maximum outlet weir height, whichever is greater. Area under downconers - 245kg/m? or a pressure equivalent to a head of water of one-half the height of the downcomer, whichever is greater. ¢. A tray above and/or below a reboiler return or partially vaporized feed nozzle ~ 490kg/m? net vertical load. 4.6.2 Trays shall be designed for a live point load of 110kg at ambient temperature. Deflection Maximum deflection for fractioning trays at operating temperature shall not exceed 0.15 percent of the tray diameter. ‘Tray_support 4.8.1 Chord downcomer trays shall be supported on rings welded to the vessel that are continuous except in the downcomer areas. Box downcomer trays shall be supported on continuous rings welded to the vessel. 4.8.2 Major support beams shall be parallel to the liquid flow across the tray. ISSUE —]SHEET [BOER Badger owe cal |arceceiars saireat 4.8.3 The depth of structural beams installed perpendicular to the flow of liquid across a tray shall not exceed 25% of the required tray spacing. 4.9 Tray Access Access to all trays shall be provided by manways in each tray, which can be removed from above or below. The manways shall be vertically aligned and as large as possible within the constraints imposed by tray layout, Multipass trays shall have manways through each pass. 4.10 Tray Spacing The fabricator shall ensure that a minimum of 350mm crawl space exists so that every part of the tray can be accessed. Access under major support beams is not required provided tray manways are provided each side Of a beam or there is an opening in the beam of at ieast 450mm wide x 350mm high through which a person can crawl. 4.11 Tray Holes 4.11.1 Holes in sieve-plates or perforated trays shall be punched or drilled from the top side. 4-11.2 Holes in bubble cap trays for risers may be Punched or burned. Punched holes shall be punched from the side that the riser is installed. Burned holes shall be made with automatic devices following a template. All burrs or slag shall be removed. 4.22 Leaka 4.12.1 The following leakage requirements apply to non aerated sections of the tray which under normal operating conditions must maintain a static head of liquid such as downcomer seguents and apron Seams, seal pans and drawoff pans. The expected leakage rate is for static water test conditions with no flow of vapor and with normal operating liquid levels: @. Welded Construction ~ no leakage. b. Minimum Leakage Construction of non-aerated tray deck - 81.5 litre/hr max./m?. ©. Vendor standard Construction - vendor to state expected leakage rate. Badger versa: ae Ea ig oO 7 of 13 121273-0-4 4.15 4.12.2 The aerated portions of the tray deck shall mect the following requirements to minimize leakage: a.
