THE LEARNING OF ARTS DANCE THROUGH THE SCIENTIFIC APPROACH IN

SMP AL HUDA LAMPUNG SELATAN

This study discusses the learning of dance through a scientific approach at Al Huda South
Lampung Junior High School. The objective of this research is the implementation of a scientific
approach to dance learning and the results of dance learning through a scientific approach at Al
Huda South Lampung Middle School. The purpose of this study is to describe how the
implementation of scientific approaches in dance learning and to know the results of dance
learning through a scientific approach in Al Huda South Lampung Junior High School. The
samples in this study were teachers and class IX (Nine) E students who took lessons. Data
collection techniques used was observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis
techniques in this study are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results
showed that the teacher had applied a scientific approach in dance learning. Base on the research
findings, the teacher has not fully implemented the scientific stages of learning, as seen from the
third and fifth meetings that the teacher did not fully implement the stages of the scientific
approach. Then the results of dance learning through a scientific approach can be seen from the
assessment of students using indicators of psychomotor abilities, and the results are on average
students get a value of 66 and above with good criteria.
