How I Modeled a Professional Behavior

Professionalism is the conduct, behavior and attitude of someone in a work or

business environment.  A person doesn’t have to work in a specific profession to
demonstrate the important qualities and characteristics of a professional.
Professionalism leads to workplace success, a strong professional reputation and a
high level of work ethic and excellence (Virginia Tech).

One must possess this act of professionalism, it plays a significant role. As a

future health provider, it is important for us to have this kind of trait. We are in a place
where we encounter a lot people, with different attitudes, status, and personalities. As a
student, I can show this act of professionalism by always abiding to the rules and
regulation of our university and to the college of nursing.

In the near future, I can express this by being an ethical nurse. This will surely really
help us in the long run. We bump into different situations every day. We exist in a place
where we need to have the patience, the passion and the commitment. As a nurse, we
have to put the outmost priority to our patients and we should be accountable of
everything that we do. For me, being an ethical nurse is what makes a professional
nurse.
