the effective and efficient operation of our school.
 Grounding Activity: What is an idiom?

1. Individually, look at the picture and identify as many

idioms as you can. They are portrayed “literally”.
Write them on the pink half sheet of paper.

2. With a partner, share your identified idioms. Update

your list with your partner’s idioms that you did not
identify.

3. Share responses as a whole group.
