Positioning Thrust

Rib 1 Supine - Thrust inferior,


FSTRA - Phys MCP on Tubercle of R1 anterior and
- Phys other hand cups pts other side of head medially
- Flex head nad neck (until motion at level of R1)
- Sidebend head and neck toward SD
- Rotate head and neck away from SD (level of T1/R1
costrotranverse joint)
- Go to restricted barrier by fine tuning and localizing
Rib 1 Prone - Thrust inferior,
eSART - sidebend head and neck away from superior R1 anterior and lateral
- Rotate pts head slighly toward dysfx rib by pivoting on chin
- Maintain sidebending & rotation by placing had on pts head
- Place thenar eminence of 2nd hand over tubercle of R1
- Go to restricted barrier by fine tuning and localizing
Rib 2-10 - pt supine - phys thrusts by
- Phys at opp side of dysfx dropping their weight
- Upper ribs: pt interlaces fingers behind neck past the fulcrum
- Lower ribs: pt crosses arm, with far elbow on top, grasping opp
shoulder
- Rotate pts opp shouder toward phys,
- place thenar eminence of caudad hand at posterior rib angle
- Sidebend away from SD
