The following describes the quantity of various fruits at a supermarket on Monday morning. - There are 26 bags of plums with each bag containing 36 plums. - Golden apples are half the number of plums. - Oranges are 72 less than the number of golden apples (a) Calculate the TOTAL number of fruits in the supermarket? (b) The supermarket is opened from Monday to Friday. If all of the fruits were sold out by Friday evening, calculate the average number of fruits sold daily. However, the sports shop sells each uniform at a cost of $65 each. If 150 students purchased uniforms: (a) Calculate the total amount paid to Jay's Sports Shop. (b) Calculate the profit % made by Jay’s Sports Shop. (8 marks) 4. Anairplane leaves Kansas Airport and flies for 1 hour 40 minutes at an average speed of 840 km/h to its destination. (a) Calculate the distance that the airplane travels. (b) If the plane uses 14 litres of fuel per kilometre, how much fuel was used for the journey? (6 marks) 5. Jake has a plot of land in the shape of a rectangle as shown below. At one corner of the land is a concrete shed in the shape of a triangle. The rest of the plot is covered with grass. 24m 16m. <—6m— (a) Calculate the area of land which is covered with grass? (b) A farmer cuts the grass at a rate of 62m? per day.
