Describe your experience at a unique restaurant

We rarely eat out in restaurants though the five members of our family are all gourmets. This is
mainly because mother is already an excellent cook with unmatchable culinary talents. Still,
father wanted the day special, to mark his promotion to the post of assistant manager. Hence,
he chose a most unique experience for the family – to eat out in a summer restaurant
"Shangrila" located on Pearl Island some 15 miles away from mainland.
This restaurant is indeed unique as it is cut off from the madding crowd. We all got stunned by
its isolation and quietness but most precisely its idyllic setting situated in the lap of a luxuriant
island with endemic plants and animals. It is built in the style of a fisherman's hut and looks like
a wooden building standing on poles in the blue azure waters of the placid lagoon. The
uniqueness of the restaurant lies in that you are welcome to catch your dinner yourself in the
lake by the restaurant. The slogan at the entrance says - "The best fish is the fish you catch
yourself".
As we made our entrance in the rustic ‘hut’ we received an exceptionally warm welcome
and got the opportunity to appreciate a locally made liquor mixed with fresh coconut water – it
was so aromatic and refreshing. We were comfortably seated at our reserved table, when the
waiter approached us to take our orders. We were open-mouthed with astonishment when we
were told to catch our own fish from the ponds in the back yard then it would be fried, baked
or smoked according to our wishes by the chef.
Father did not waste a single minute to set to task as we were already starving. We were
lucky enough as father caught a big trout on his first attempt and we decided to have it smoked.
While the chef was working on our catch, we enjoyed the comfortable and relaxing atmosphere
of the restaurant. The Personnel was well trained, friendly, and courteous without being
overbearing. The Music was calm and not irritating. We exchanged some casual chats with the
staff members who made us feel at home and relaxed.
In less than an hour, our smoked trout was brought out. It looked scrumptious. But the exotic
aromas and exquisite flavours made the food so appetizing that we ate like hungry wolves. We
were more than happy with our tasty food and impeccable service and didn't even realise that
we were on an isolated island several miles away from mainland.
