Practices for providing me the chance to undertake this internship study and
allowing me to explore the expertized area of Internal Auditing which was
entirely new to me and which will surely prove to be very beneficial to me in
my future assignments, my studies and my career ahead.

No job is a single man’s work as there are different factors, situations and
people combine together to form the background for the accomplishment of any
task.

learning and experience during my Internship. Her constant monitoring,

 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Retail industry in India is undoubtedly one of the fastest growing retail industry
in the world. It is the largest among all industries accounting to 10 per cent of
the country GDP and employs around 8 per cent of the workforce. India has
seen a drastic shopping revolution in terms of format and consumer buying
behaviour. From shopping centres to multi-storied malls to huge complexes
offering shopping, entertainment and food all under one roof and it is because of
this trend that the retail industry is witnessing a revolution as many new format
markets like hypermarkets, supermarkets, departmental stores have made their
way in the market.

With development comes competition. Today the retail sector has become
aggressively competitive. Many retailers have entered in the market and have
established their space.
This project is study of Future group in context with the slowdown of the
companies growth. Factors which effecting the progress of the firm in quite few
months and year.

Before moving to the analysation of the major retail giants the project enlighten
readers about retail sector; its importance; background of the company and
evolution of firm in India; the government policies for retail and the budget
impact on the same.
Further a detailed study of Future Group’s ups and downs is done right from
their establishment to current status.

The financial status of both the organization is studied thoroughly. Accordingly

the study is conducted. Finally a conclusion is drawn about the companies status
and the drawbacks and current slowdown which the firm is going through and
the reasons behind the success of the company are studied critically. Along with
that suggestions are made for the other company to make improvements in the
area in which they lack in order to make more profits.
