Summary
Experienced Data Scientist with work experience in AI and Deep Learning to-
gether with strong foundation in Computer Science and Mathematics.

Education
2019 PhD in Mathematics, Indian Institute of Science(IISc), Bangalore.
2010 M. Tech in Information & Communication Technology, IIT, Delhi.
2009 B. Tech in Electrical Engineering, IIT, Delhi.

Experience
Jul 2019 - Data Scientist, Alphaics, Bangalore.
present Responsible for software development for proprietary AI processors which aimed at computing various
neural networks.
♦ Library development: Solely responsible for developing basic neural network modules such as
Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), used for implementing
deep neural networks. Successfully demoed working DeepSpeech, Inception, PeleeNet, Resnet50,
SqueezeNet, VGG and many other state of the art networks on custom AI processors.
♦ Edge learning: Experimenting with different state of the art zero shot learning(ZSL) and reinforcement
learning(RL) methods to develop self supervised learning algorithm optimized for proprietary custom
AI processor.
Aug 2013 - Research Scholar, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
Jun 2019 Studied Grushin operator and deduced various Hardy’s inequalities for its fractional powers. Also
studied various Fourier multipliers on Modulation spaces. Recent publications are as folows:
♦ R. Balhara, Hardy’s inequality for the fractional powers of the Grushin operator, Proceedings-
Mathematical Sciences (2019) 129: 33.

for Grushin operator, arxiv
Jun 2010 - Analyst, Estee Advisors Pvt Ltd, Gurgaon.
Jul 2011 ♦ Integrating R in C#: Designed and coded a GUI in C for doing bivariate analysis of the signals,
using R dll. Analysed NSE and BSE market data using this GUI for finding useful trading signals.
♦ Cash-Future Strategy: Sole developer and manager for the strategy, taking position in cash and
futures of a security to make an arbitrage. Probabilistic data of scripts’ dividends from Bloomberg UI
was used for optimising profit. Average monthly profit of 1% of the deployed money was earned using
the strategy.
♦ Nifty-MiniNifty Strategy: Sole developer and manager of the strategy exploiting spread between
Nifty Futures and MiNifty Futures. Success of this strategy depends on the efficiency of the code. Avg.
monthly profit ranged between 0.5% to 1% of deployed capital.
♦ Index Replication Strategy: Worked on the replication of NSE index with lesser securities, thereby
developing an arbitrage strategy
