Instructions for ONLINE Hostel room allotment:

1. Regarding login details:

 Students (All B.Tech., and M.Tech., (5 year Integrated)) can access their Hostel
Index Rank, their confidential key, Group code and room allotment login password
in their V-Top login.
 Law students can continue to use their FFCS password for the room allotment login.
 Room allotment login password for 19 batch B.Tech. and M.Tech. (5 year
Integrated)) will be displayed in V-Top.

2. In case of forgot password

 V-Top password can be changed using “forgot password” option.

 For senior B.Tech., M.Tech. (5 year Integrated) and law students, FFCS password
remains to be the room allotment login password. In case, if any student forgot their
password, send a mail from your VIT mail id to chennai.sdc@vit.ac.in one day
before mock registration.

 Any requests from the day of mock registration will not be entertained.

3. Before starting your registration, keep the register numbers and keys (will be displayed
in your FFCS/VTOP) of all your preferred roommates within the stipulated ranks
(depending on the type of room preference). For instance, if you (group leader) intend
to choose 3 bed room, the group leader should have the other two roommates’ register
numbers and keys for completing the room registration process.

4. Key displayed in V-Top/FFCS is strictly confidential. Ensure to share with only chosen
roommates. SDC/Hostel authorities will not hold any responsibility of misusing the
secret keys.

5. Strictly follow the instructions circulated by Deputy Director (Hostels) for choosing
roommates.
6. You are permitted to login only in your stipulated date and time period.
7. To keep the session alive, refresh the browser once in 3 minutes. To “re-login”,
properly “Log Out” before closing the browser.
8. The University will not take any responsibility if your room registrations are altered/
deleted.
9. Under unavoidable circumstances, there may be a change in allotment. All efforts will
be taken to keep such changes to a bare minimum level.

NOTE: Once the group leader on a particular room type / block during online
registration that will be considered final. No student belonging to that group can later
contest the group leader’s decision.

* Since, we are moving towards online hostel allotment (thru Internet) for the first time,
we request all your support for smooth completion of the process. Attempt mock and
send us grievances, if any.
