Second introduction

2.1. Basics

Detecting the spatial geometry or the building via the architectural floor plans, the conventional tabular capture of the components is clearly superior for the
heating and cooling load. The huge time savings, the visual control possibilities, the direct linkage of the walls, windows, doors with a tabular representation of the
components in the heating load and the elegant variation possibilities are the main points that speak for the graphic recording of room components.

Through the concept of mh-software, the data in the graph directly connected to the heating and cooling load calculations, and the radiator design and piping
calculation. Does not require any data acquisitions or -Übergaben.

The program supports your work including through

• Intelligent drawing functions for the components

• powerful copy functions that reduce input costs dramatically

• automatic generation of components for the heating and cooling load

• Relations between adjoining rooms are made automatically

• automatically correcting the data according to changes in the spatial geometry

• flexible functions for subsequent change of data in the entire building, buildings or any component groups.

• Textured 3D representation of the building

• automatic creation of the radiator design

• automatic placing of radiators for pipeline calculation

Due to the object-oriented structure of the program, the work of the natural way of thinking is adapted humans. Compared to working in tabular calculation
programs, this has several advantages, including:

• Input errors by forgotten, duplicate or incorrect component dimensions are virtually eliminated.

• They recognize immediately which areas are already covered, or rooms need to be acquired.

• Changes of individual data can be made via the graphics much more effective, such as the replacement of windows in the south facade. About the
tabular editing such changes with a considerable amount of time are connected, and also error-prone.

• Access to individual components on the graphics are much faster than on tables.

• Direct optical access to radiator over the room, with the global changes related possibilities.

• Nevertheless, you have direct access to the clear tabular presentation. You can always choose where you want to submit it, or change, in the table
or on the graph.

• With an analysis function, the objects are colored according to the values of any data. So you can be colored as the rooms according to the specific
heating power or the components of the transmission heat loss.

• jump over the textured 3D representation of the building input errors immediately apparent

You can always display the data of a component shown in the diagram and edit and with a single click directly to the heating, cooling load calculation, radiator
design and piping calculation change.

If desired, the objects may be labeled with any input or calculation results.

2.1.1. Benefits of working with the chamber geometry

The program mh-RaumGEO accelerates the detection of spatial data for the heating or cooling load considerably. In addition, the spatial data are also used for
further processing within the heating planning, where there is also a significant time savings.

Generating Data

By pressing a button the components for the heating and cooling load calculation are generated from the acquired spatial geometry, which only the calculation
specific data needs to be supplemented in these programs. Subsequent changes as
as moving, deleting or adding walls, windows, doors, rooms or assigning data on powerful global change functions are performed in the image and automatically
have an effect on the heating or cooling load calculation.

Preparation for radiator design

Radiators can for an automatic interpretation for each subscribed within the window radiator design
be provided. Also drawing the installation position of additional radiators, eg for indoor application, facilitates further processing.

Preparation for pipeline calculation

Using the spatial geometry, the radiators can in the pipe network calculation automatically with the correct
Radiator dimensions are placed in the desired distance from the wall, so that only the distribution and risers must be drawn.

Easy data access

Access to the data of the various calculation modules is much easier through the graphical work. By clicking on an object in the image data can be viewed
immediately and modified.

Elegant modification of data

Changes to the data of the whole object groups are settled on the room geometry in a few moments. Just a selection set, for example, put together, the radiators
in the bathrooms or all walls of the south facade, and copy the desired values in all objects in the selection set.

navigation Help

The chamber geometry is also used after the detection of building data as a welcome navigation aid access to the room data in the heating load or the cooling
load calculation or else to the appropriate place of the heater or pipe network calculation to jump.

Graphical data analysis

In addition, the spatial geometry is used for the analysis of data entries or calculation results. In the graph, for example the spaces may be colored according to
the specific heating load, whereby input errors or critical planning situations quickly analyzed and corrected.

2.1.2. graph
Even for users with no CAD experience capturing the spatial geometry is particularly easy, as used by mh-software advanced features that are specifically
tailored to the simple drawing of components.

The architectural floor plans are displayed as DWG or DXF file each storey and simply traced the components. Each chamber is then provided with a space
temple.

For data entry, a click is the right mouse button on an object (wall, window, door, room stamp, ...) in the graphic display to the corresponding data sheet. All
subsequent data changes, such as the replacement of U-values in the "south facade" are completed in seconds.

2.1.3. Generation of the data

When generating the data records are created for the heating or cooling load calculation for graphically captured components. The program generates this for
every room the extensive components. In addition, to determine the following data:

• component dimensions

• Height of the space above the floor

• Floor surface and volume

• Footprint of the base plate for rooms against soil

• for spaces that extend partially into the ground, soil touched components and components are generated against outside air.

Information will be provided for the radiator design and piping calculation that allow for quick editing. For this purpose, placed in front of each window (in the pipe
network calculation) a radiator. Is in front of individual windows, no heating required, this can be labeled natural. If necessary, the positions of additional heating
element can be drawn (in particular for internal spaces) in RaumGEO.

2.1.4. The importance of habitat type

It makes sense to divide the rooms into types such as office, hall, toilet, living room, bedroom, etc. The room type, consisting of a 3-digit alphanumeric
abbreviation, used in different parts of the program for allocating

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

Default values and can be also used also as a reference for information about how eg room air temperature or the minimum air change. For more information
about the room type in the manual of the heating load.

After a heating load, the radiator design can almost automatically be carried out as part of an initialization. It is possible to assign a separate radiator type from
any manufacturer every room type, thereby assigned to a button every room in the entire building of the desired radiator and designed.

The room type is converted into the radiator design in a radiator group. The radiator group is very similar to using the room type in the heating load. It is used
primarily to automatically assign data or to carry out subsequent changes easier. Each radiator is automatically given during initialization by the data of the
heating load, a heating-group short term corresponding to the room type short name. It can furthermore additional radiator groups defined and the radiators are
allocated. For more information about Radiator group, refer to the radiator design.

In the pipe network calculation, the designed heater can be automatically placed with the correct dimensions, wherein each radiator is assigned on the radiator
group is an individual connection, a distance from the wall, and an installation height above the floor.

The processing time of a project is reduced considerably by the use of room types and the radiator groups derived therefrom.

2.2. method

The screen mask of the program mh-RaumGEO is divided into two main areas. In the right pane the graphical recording of room geometry is and the left side of
the data of the individual objects are displayed. The program will be largely free hand, typing in what order the data. However, the following approach is likely to
be the most effective:

1. From project management to a document (attached) for the chamber geometry. In the mask buildings Quick Definition enter the characteristics of the
projectiles. Then you read a one floor plan for each floor. ( Working with layout plans ).

2. Then enter defaults for space and component data that the drawn elements
are automatically assigned.

3. Enter the room geometry in which the Outside - and interior walls and Windows and doors in the
Floor plan tracing (see Detecting the spatial geometry ). An automatic Fang makes drawing. Make sure that the display type 'System' is selected in
the drawing that you select with the F9 key (see select Display ). The presentation 'System' is preferable for drawing.

4. After you set a room stamp in any room.

5. Enter one by one all floors. For this purpose, you can copy one floor to another floor the objects. To switch to another floor, call the Ansichts mask or in
the footer set the desired floor.

6th Place over the North arrow the direction determined.

7. Do not forget to save the time data from time.

8. Start the to generate the spatial data. If you have not drawn correctly the room geometry, receive
a error list You make the necessary changes in the drawing with the aid.

9. The drawn elements are now data masks assigned, in which you enter any necessary changes.

10. About Quick Clicks You can directly jump to other calculation modules, such as heating, cooling load or
Radiator design.

11. For first heating planning to switch to the heating load to still complete the missing data there. Then you run into the radiator design by initializing, with
the almost fully automatically a complete radiator design is performed. Afterwards, you can place all designed radiators in the pipe network
calculation. After drawing the storey and risers and the connection of the radiator to the floor conduits an interpretation of the pipe network can be
performed.

12. About the Flight mode You can virtually move through the network, the Objects Isolate mode allows
(Even over several floors) to cut them any area in any expansion of the building and its details.

13. If you are happy with your design, you can use the Paper Plan Administration Creating plans. Here Are
You know no bounds. You can create as many plans and views. Each plan can have its own individual label. With a few clicks you export your plans
in your format.

Before you perform your first plan, you must follow the introductory example work through. After a few minutes will give you the basic procedure significantly. To
quickly learn to fully exploit the many possibilities of the program.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

Begin then edit their own small project, in which you get to know all the features playful. After a short time you will be able to handle larger projects in no time.

2.3. Important relationships

Important relationships between RaumGEO, heating load, cooling load, radiator design and piping calculation

The individual program modules of mh-software access to a common data Master to, so error-prone data transfers and acquisitions not required. Nevertheless,
the relationships are essential skills to enable effective processing.

Each program module has its own calculation core that is not initiated by the other program modules. Change eg a value in the heating load, this, the radiator
design is initially not affected. Only when you re-perform the calculation in the radiator design, the changed values of the heating load are considered.

RaumGEO

Similarly, the program module RaumGEO behaves in connection with the heating load. Change, has RaumGEO the geometry of the first no effect on the results
of the heating load. First, the modified geometry must be analyzed and the components are regenerated. When generating the components is simultaneously a
heating load calculation carried out of the territories involved, so the results displayed in the room geometry is updated.

The generation of the components is only required if the room geometry (drawing) has been changed. Change by replacing the data of individual objects, for
example, by a change in the component Global abbreviation of exterior walls, a generation of the components is not required. But even in this case: the changes
in the data are only taken into account by re-calculating the heating or cooling load.

Note: The program module RaumGEO the data can only be displayed or modified after the generation of the components was performed.

Recommendation:

Generate "safety's sake" after a change once the entire building.

heating load

The calculation of the heating load is automatically performed for a room as soon as the space data of the room to be called or displayed. The heating load but is
performed only for the displayed area. The results of all the other rooms may not be up to date. Therefore, it is recommended a calculation of the building to
perform to the data to update all the rooms. This is especially required when you change values, which could affect several or all rooms, such as the standard
outdoor temperature, the basic water depth, the room master data or the component data in the component catalog, such as U-value or window or door
-Dimensions.

A smaller change in the chamber geometry, as moving an inner wall, the impact may have several rooms. Therefore, it is always useful to regenerate the
components to calculate the entire building again in the heating load.

recommendation : Calculate "safety's sake" after a change in the flanking modules RaumGEO, U value calculation or manual changes to the room
components (walls, windows, ...) in the cooling load again the entire building.

radiator design

The (detailed) Initialize the radiator design lays out for all new rooms radiators that were not created in the program module HkCALC. Here, a heater is
automatically provided for each window. To be placed in front of a window, no radiator, deactivate in RaumGEO for this window, select "Radiator for windows
provide." Check before initializing if you have already performed the heating load for all spaces. Otherwise (0 = heating load) no radiators are provided in the
radiator design for the rooms without heat load.

Insert after already taken radiator design in RaumGEO or heating load new spaces, then take into account only the new and not yet processed spaces at
initialization. Spaces for the initialization has already been done will not be re-initialized again (unless you activate the tab "initialization" or "Detailed Initialization"
option "designed radiator should be deleted").

Changes in Heizlastdaten or other constraints, such as new radiators catalogs or the air pressure is only through an update (Reiter Project data> Update) into
account all the rooms. To the selected

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

maintain radiator and to adapt only the changed conditions, you can simultaneously "fix".

Recommendation: If you are not sure if current Heizlastergebnisse for the radiator design are available, you should "safe side" again calculate the
entire building heating load in the module and then perform only the changes in the radiator design.

Pipeline calculation

The pipeline calculation uses the calculation results of the radiator design without performing an interpretation. It is therefore necessary to provide in the radiator
design for current results.

By using the program module RaumGEO radiator can be placed automatically with the determined in the radiator design radiator dimensions. If the position of the
radiators, have changed by moving the window in RaumGEO example, the new position in RohrSYS is not adjusted, as well as the connecting lines or distribution
lines must be laid. Perform such changes by manually. One option is to remove the radiators concerned together with the connecting lines in RohrSYS and place
again automatically.

Changed radiators dimensions are tracked by automatically placing in RohrSYS if the connecting lines can be routed automatically. Otherwise warning
messages. You can then decide individually whether it is necessary to incorporate the changes. Also delete in this case, the affected radiator together with the
connecting lines and run the automatic placement through again.

Recommendation: If you are not sure if current radiators are available, you should "safe side" again calculate the entire building heating load in the
module and perform the update in the radiator design and then perform only the changes to the pipe network calculation.

Cooling load calculation

The calculation of spatial data for the cooling load is automatically performed for a room as soon as the space data of the room to be called or displayed. The
calculation of the cooling load of the building must separately via the tab calculation are triggered. are otherwise similarly to the same conditions described for the
heating load (see above).

Recommendation:

Calculate "safety's sake" after a change once the entire building.

2.4. basic knowledge

Before you start entering the building as part of the introductory example, you should be familiar with some concepts and principles. The knowledge of the
mentioned tips and settings are required for the effective use of the program and should be worked through in any case!

In this Preliminary example of the spatial geometry of the module mh-RaumGEO particular addressing the processing and functions. We assume that
the user already mastered the functions of the corresponding modules Component, heating load, radiator design and piping calculation. Please refer
to the respective separate manuals For more information on these modules.

Note :
The actual processing of the sample project begins "create 12.3 .Gebäudestruktur" with the chapter. But first, the basics:

2.4.1. The canvas

In the drawing area in the right area of the screen, only the floor plan is initially (if selected) and a reticle visible. The crosshairs can be moved with the mouse.
Starting from the first operating point a dashed reference line is drawn to the cross-hairs. When starting a new system, the first operating point is at the origin of
the x, y, zKoordinaten (0,0,0). Where do you usually start your drawing, but does not matter. So this does not necessarily have to be at the origin. You can see in
the status bar, the current position of the crosshairs right below.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

2.4.2. The data area
On the left side of the screen, the data area is located. In this area, data entry can be made to the building and individual
objects and components. Also the final calculation results calculated any objects and components are delivered here.

In addition to the data inputs can use the tab " Calc are set to "various parameters for the calculation and data analysis. Note
- and error messages are also displayed here. The tab " plans "You get to the paper plan management. Here the plans,
including marking contents and scope are defined. A very important function has the tab " To draw ". This provides access to
the various drawing tools and drawing objects.

2.4.3. dots
The crosshair moves on invisible grid points whose distance can you claim free. By default, a grid spacing of 10 cm is set. With the help of the grid, a construction
is unrelated to the plan (for example, when placing additional radiators) to perform quick and easy.

The detection of the walls, doors and windows is usually done in conjunction with floor plans. mh-RaumGEO interprets the stored floor plan and automatically
generates snap points. To avoid a conflict with the rigid grid, you should therefore avoid the use of the grid. The grid is disabled by default, but can be enabled via
the "grid" or F7 at the bottom.

2.4.4. Supportive evidence

Right below the mouse messages will be displayed on the currently selected mode, to assist in particular the training phase. If you are more familiar with the
program you can hints about
options • Settings ... switch off.

2.5. Several important functions

In this chapter we will briefly on some key commands you need again and again.

2.5.1. Saving the network

From time to time you should save your work so far. As usual in drawing or CAD programs, determines the

User when a drawing is to be stored. To do this on the 'Save' icon in the

Toolbar. When you finish editing a system without saving, you can return to the last stand to your work from there continue.

In order to be "remember" to save, you can options • Settings ... Setting a time interval. Once the preset time has elapsed, a mask in which you will choose
whether now or should be saved for the next action.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

2.5.2. Undo and Redo

Drawing commands you can Edit Undo cancel. Alternatively, you can click the icon in

the toolbar. The command Edit Redo or by clicking on to the last

Undone Commands discard them.

2.5.3. Tools
is the most important drawing tools left in the data area on the tab " To draw "Access. Here you can (such as objects to select, delete, copy ...) and new objects
are selected for subscription in addition to the tools for editing and manipulation already drawn objects. Besides the pure selection of objects you can here
already defaults Assign the objects to be drawn - for example, you can specify that the outer wall receives the specifications of a sand-lime brick wall, the inner
wall of a light construction wall is the allocation of pipe in both the hydraulic program modules - making and channel properties.

Another option of quick access to the tools offered by the toolbox. You can access by right-clicking in any part of the plot area.

In the introductory example we will largely eliminate the use of the toolbox and the tools under the tab " To draw use ". However, it is up to you to work the tool
access to the variant that suits you best.

2.5.4. The context menu

If you click with the right mouse button on any drawn object, a context menu opens. From this menu, you can display the calculation and labeling data of a single
object, add this object in a selection set or remove, delete it directly or call the toolbox.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

2.5.5. Deleting the wrong drawing objects
If you accidentally drawn objects (such as walls, windows, doors .....) wrong, you can simply delete it. First, you gather that you want to delete all the objects in a
selection list. To select the

Tools mode

Move the mouse on the object that you want to add to the selection list. Once you come up with the mouse in the proximity of an object, it is displayed in bold. By
clicking take the object in the selection list. Repeat this process to accommodate more objects. If you want to add multiple objects at once, you can draw a
border. To do this, release the left mouse button and move the mouse until the frame the size you want. Release the mouse button, all objects will be included in
the list contained in the frame.

Note: Drag the frame from left to right, all objects are selected which are located completely within this framework. If the frame is raised from right to left, the
objects are selected, which lie within the frame or the frame crosses. It is also possible to remove objects from the selection list. For processing pick lists, there
are several powerful commands.

To delete the objects in a list, click the Tools icon or on

"Del" on your keyboard.

2.5.6. zooming
To facilitate the drawing, you will always want to represent the network part you are editing. this RaumGEO and RohrSYS provide various options.

Note : The easiest and fastest way to change the visible section is to use the mouse wheel. the cut is increased by rotating the mouse wheel or
reduced. Click with the mouse wheel to move the cut and moving the mouse while pressing the wheel to the new location. After releasing the mouse
wheel, the section is moved.

If you want to see only a specific element of the network, select the menu item "Zoom" in the

Menu bar at the top of the screen or from the toolbox icon from the tool box to
to zoom in a sub-region.

Now drag with the mouse a frame over the desired portion. If you to the previous

but elegant, you can panen with pushed mouse wheel. Just click with the mouse wheel in the workspace and hold the mouse wheel down while you move the
screen section.

Zooming You can also use the mouse wheel make.

Also note the additional keyboard shortcuts. A brief description you can at any time Help Keyboard Shortcuts
call.

2.5.7. Changing the View

When three-dimensional viewing, it can happen to objects that overlap each other. Depending on your perspective, it is sometimes not easy to see the
connections. Even the selection of objects is sometimes a bit more difficult, if not impossible. In these cases, you have to change the "View".

1. Click with the left mouse button on an object to which you want to rotate the view.

Second Move the mouse to the side and press now simultaneously the space bar and the middle mousekey respectively.
the mouse wheel. When you move the mouse with the pressed keys, the display is rotated around the current point.

By selecting a suitable viewing direction you get a view in which you can already better understand the connections.

Another elegant way to change the view angle provides the displayed in the upper left corner of the canvas "3D house".

If you move your mouse over the cottage, the standard views (top view 45 °
Isometric, side view) shown on a gray highlighting. Click on it to view the respective set. You can also click on the house, holding down the mouse button and
move the mouse in the desired direction - the angle of view changes, the cottage turns analogously with.

In the lower left corner of the canvas can be found for further orientation an XYZ
Coordinate cross.

Overlaps can be resolved if the individual floors are not displayed in real-floor distance. Click on the tab building and then check the box "Equalization". Now the
stories are pushed apart. The offset will be "moved" by which the floors, specify for each floor separately in the mask "offset" one.

To return to the "normal" view, remove the checkmark "Equalization" or close the small window " Equalize " which is displayed on the left below.

So much for the important basics, now we start to practice and edit the "Introductory example":

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

Third Introductory example

To get the fastest possible entry into operation of RaumGEO, we recommend that you work through the example image. To learn after a short time the extensive
possibilities of RaumGEO know. In the introductory example does not address all the features. Only required for the example data entry fields are explained
briefly. You should just one of many ways are described briefly to acquire a building quickly and effectively and to calculate here. Soon after you have made your
first detections, you will enjoy your own work style developed to accommodate building. Another note: use the built-in help system (F1) or the manual in your
work. Here you will repeatedly come across important information that will facilitate your work.

At the end of the introductory example, we are a building have captured and the associated heating load, radiator design and piping calculation conducted. The
following steps are carried out:

• Create Project

• walls capture

• capture windows / doors

• Room stamp record

• Additional radiator-maintain

• Providing the data

• complete project data for heating load

• 1. Create OG

• Create DG

• identify building heating

• analysis

• design radiators

• place radiators automatically

• distribution lines draw

• Risers draw

• Radiators automatically connect

• calculate pipe network

• power analysis

3.1. Create building structure

The first step is to create through the building quickly define the structure of the current construction project. Then, each floor is assigned a DWG layout plan and
imported. The layout plans facilitate the rapid detection of the spatial geometry and drawing of the distribution in the pipe network calculation. Also, all lengths are
automatically taken from the floor plans. During the subsequent graphical output of the pipe network the plans may also optionally isometric - are represented.

3.1.1. Applying the exercise project

After starting the program, you are in the project management.

1. After installation, is set at the first call of the program, the "Project" folder of the installation path. but you can also select a folder in which you want to
create the test project.

2. Click on the "New Project" and enter a project name, for example, an "Introductory example". Ok, the project is created.

Third Enter, if desired, in the right area of the screen, the addresses and a project description.

Below the scale project all calculation modules are listed. The calculation modules for which you will have a license displayed in black, the other gray.
Double-click on RaumGEO a "room geometry system" is created.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

Now, a mask in which you a chance to review the project name and path opens

Subsequently, the masks are:

• Building Quick Definition

• building structure
called in turn to facilitate the entry into the processing of the project.

3.1.2. Building Quick Definition

The quick definition of a building makes editing a project. It will automatically be the floors of the building to be processed is defined, so easier to draw the access
to the individual floors. With only a few data entries the projectiles generated a building.

1. Enter a max. 3-digit short term one of a building, for example, "OST". Optionally, you can enter an additional explanatory long text.

Second Enter 1 for the Number of floors above ground and basement floors, and storey height 3.00, m is the clearance 2.35 m and the sill height 0.90 m
as shown above on the upper floor, ground floor and basement. Do not forget to register at "Number of cellar" "1". The figures for the amount
FBAufbau and thickness of the ceiling are optional.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

3. Click on the button Invest to the quick definition perform.

4. After applying the mask opens Building structure in which the projectiles are listed individually.

For example, if the upper floors of the building have identical heights, the values of the different floors can be changed later. In this mask more
rounds can be supplemented at a later date. You can reach the building structure at any time via the menu Data> building structure.

In the lower part of the screen you will see a schematic representation of storeys of the building. Errors regarding the floor heights jump immediately
apparent.

Important NOTE : During the subsequent drawing of the walls and the generation of spatial data, the vertical dimensions of the individual floors are
used in the building structure. Check therefore it is imperative prior to further processing anew all heights.

In our example, no changes are initially performed, you therefore close the screen with a click OK. Next, the mask opens manage floor plans.

3.1.3. Assigning floor plans
For the trades detection, it is helpful to use floor plans. These plans are loaded as a background image and serve as a guide. So the lines and objects can be
drawn into it directly into the plans, the dimensions of which result automatically.

The level ranges of the individual floors are automatically generated from the data of the building structure.

To facilitate the drawing, each floor is assigned a DWG layout plan.

1. Wear one for each floor Domain name on.

2. Double box Symbols: Date i in the line of the "1st Floor" opens a dialog that allows you to
Select the desired file. Select the "mh_og.dwg" file that is included with the downloaded from them introductory example folder.

3. Select the unit the layout plan - the top right flashes the corresponding area green. the SAMPLE
Floor plan was in " mm " created.

4. Now click the right of the unit selection to "read".

5th Now you see for the first time within the mh-software architect their floor plan. Left and below the floor plan you can see lengths - so you can check
at a glance whether the set scale is correct. The red icon refers to the zero point.

6. Repeat the process for the ground floor.

7. You will now see the layout of the ground floor. Behind you see displayed in red in some places the plan of
1st floor - this is stored as a reference plan. Thus, one would notice immediately if the floor plans would not overlap.

8th. Read last one the floor plan of basement.

9. Click Conclude to close the mask "plan administration". The floor plan is now on
Floor level of the selected floor (= visible range) displayed. To fully represent the floor select from the toolbar or the menu zoom > All or double-click
with the mouse wheel in the workspace.

3.1.4. Set the default values

In the next step (exterior walls, interior walls, windows, doors ...) default values are set for the respective component types.

When generating the parts are the defaults the newly drawn objects allocated. If necessary, the data can be customized later (see also Default Values and Global
Change ).

Enter the values shown.

• • In the left part of the screen on the "Draw".

• • With F2 or double-click in the fields " component " the component catalog is opened.

For the type of component outer wall and floor additionally a field exists " against soil "To different U values to specify for with soil touched walls.

Here "used parts" and "catalog" lists the existing components there in the tab. The components for the Introductory example, are all located in the
"Catalog". Once you have used these components, they are listed for a better overview also been "used parts". With a double click or by clicking the
"Apply" the component selected is added to the suggestion list.

• • Select for the various Component species (Change may have to again, 'the components used' in the tab 'Catalog') following default values from the
"Catalog".

Important: Do not just type the abbreviation of BT, but also take them each by double-clicking the component calculation.

The non-mentioned component types are not used in the example.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

Note: During the entire processing in RaumGEO the default values can be changed at any time for a component types. Double click in the box
component and then select the component catalog to another component made. When drawing the component newly elected is used from that date.

3.2. Acquisition of the room geometry

As a basis for further processing to capture graphically the spatial data in the program module space geometry, with all relevant data (eg U-values as) are
assigned. The allocation of room types (such as office, toilet, hall, Conference, ...) facilitates further processing.

3.2.1. The detection of the outer walls

Now we can start to draw. However, If necessary, read the important theoretical basis of the final sections through again.

• • Set is sure that at the bottom of the floor selection "EC" will be displayed.

• • If the floor plan visible? If not, click the top of the toolbar on the "floor plan on / off" ,

• • Turn if not yet done with the function key F5 in the presentation Top view.

• • This means that all snap points are determined solely by the floor plan, make sure that the buttons grid and ortho are disabled at the lower edge of
the mask.

• • Select the tab "drawing" in the toolbar command

• • We start recording the room geometry on the left side of the building.

to move the mouse with the green crosshairs to the point shown above. Once you are with the mouse to the "right" position, engages the internal
catch and the mouse cursor a green square appears. The detection of the external walls is carried out according Heizlastnorm on the wall outside.

• • In the desired point start The detection of the outer walls with a Double-click. Move the crosshairs clockwise to the bottom left corner of the building.

With a simple click this distance is fixed.

Note: The "outer wall" function remains active through "simple clicks." As long as you so "easy" button at the end of a wall, drawing the next outer
wall continues in this click point. Double-click to fix the route and finish at the same time drawing. With another double-start again drawing the outer
wall. Move the crosshairs to the top left corner of the building

and click again once. In order not to exceed the maximum number of spaces in the mh tools and mhDemoversion, in this Introductory example only
the left part of the building is detected.

therefore move the crosshairs until the end of space N 005. This point is to form our sample building in the top right corner. click You will also find once.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

• • Move the crosshairs of the wall line along down. At each change of direction click she once.

• • To the rounded sections of the conference room better grasp, it is recommended to increase the left pane. The drawing functions from
mh-RaumGEO are "transparent functions"
ie you can - zooming perform other functions, such as - without drawing interrupting. Move (without clicking!) First the mouse near the round and turn
the mouse wheel forward. so they magnify the area around the current cursor position. With pushed mouse wheel section can be moved (panen).

Now is the rounded window to better recognize the range. Click on the corner of the window segment to fix the lower wall.

•• • Then roll along the individual segment strips and click each at the vertex. The auto-catching with the green square will support you. With a Double in
starting point, you complete the detection of the exterior walls.

•• • Double click with the mouse wheel (carried out by "Zoom All") and view the previously edited "complete works". At least now also is the time to save
your work so far. click

They use the 'Save' icon- in the toolbar. (It came just now the memory to store!)

3.2.2. The detection of the interior walls

Now we begin to grasp the interior walls. To do this, select from the toolbar menu item

1. We start again in the corner on the left side of the building. our starting point we mark with a
Double-click.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

we then move the cross obliquely upward to the opposite outer wall "trapped" is. Worry not initially on the slanting across the room line.
mh-RaumGEO has intelligent drawing routines that automatically detect, as the wall in the underlying plan runs. You must specify only the general
direction.

Finish the inner wall acquisition with a Double on the outer wall. The alignment of the inner wall takes place automatically centered in the illustrated
inner wall.

Important: On your intersections walls must be always connected. Interconnect recognize (with strong zoom in) on the basis of small black squares
that endpoints are generated at the intersection /. Connections are created with simple clicks once you with a wall a different crosses. Do you want to
stop drawing on a wall, create the connection point using a double click.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

In the next step we want to capture the walls of the stairwell. Move the mouse to the inner wall between Staircase N006 and Office N003. Start the
acquisition with a space Double-click.

Move the mouse to the opposite wall and fix the track with a simple click.

Now move along this inner wall. Intermediate points can be fixed with a simple click. Finish the partial acquisition with a double click.

Note : Interior walls are between the two inner lines of aligned mh-RaumGEO automatically center of the layout plan. So you need to click while
drawing in most cases only "approximately" to the right place. If automatic alignment is not done centrally so are probably too many lines present, so
that can not be correctly recognized the actual wall. In this case, there are several ways to find the right position to find:

1. Align : Switch on the toolbar in the mode and

point your mouse to the inner wall at a location with as little "disturbing" lines. With a
Double aligning is repeated.

2. Move : Switch on the toolbar in the mode and

move with the mouse the drawn wall at the desired location. A parallel shift can be reached at ortho Mode.

This method is described in detail in the chapter " move objects using drag and drop "Described and should definitely be read by you.

3. redraw : Draw the wall again at the desired position and prevent the automatic alignment by simultaneously while drawing the end point, the CTRL Press
button.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

Second Drive she with of the recording of the remaining interior walls how described continued.

Important note on Number of rooms:

If you or a demo version work with the mh tools, you must not exceed the maximum number of 30 rooms. Therefore, in this Introductory example only
the left half of the building is processed as shown below. As users of the full version, you can also rest, contained in the plan rooms capture.

3.2.3. The detection of the windows and doors

Directly into the walls, we draw the windows and doors, which are interpreted as a deduction surfaces in the heating and cooling load calculation. A special
fishing function makes it easier to millimeter precision alignment to the floor plan. The heights of the windows and doors are already specified in the component
calculation. If required, the values can be customized for individual components.

The windows have an additional importance because before each window heater is later installed automatically with the proportionate thermal performance. Make
already draw the window on their orientation. Where they started to draw the window, there is the connection of the supply line with the thermostatic valve. This
page is shown in red.

window

First we choose the first this purpose from the toolbar.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

Second Zoom in on any portion of the plan that are located outside window in the. With a simple click the starting point of the window is placed.

Now move the crosshairs to the outer wall line along. With one more clicking the window is fixed.

3. Now enter the remaining exterior windows. Do not forget to save your work every now and then.

Note: On the side of the window where you begin drawing is issued a small red bar. In the pipe network calculation of the radiator is later aligned so that here the
supply line is connected to the thermostat valve. So you can already influence the future pipeline network in detecting the spatial geometry. If necessary, the
connection side can still be reversed by a calculation that later.

External / internal doors

1. What is the Interior doors are detected, should now on hallway N007 to be shown. Choose

Move the crosshairs to the bottom left door.

2. Begin with the detection of internal doors with a simple click.

Third Lock the door at the end also with a simple click. The red line on one side of the door is not significant and does not need attention.

4th now enter the remaining doors. Note for the acquisition of the entire building: The procedure for

Exterior doors are identical. You only have to from the toolbox
choose.

3.2.4. Set room stamp

1. After all the components are detected, we put the room stamp. Each room should have a temple Room type
be assigned, which serves to assign additional space specifications, such as indoor air temperatures and minimum air change
in the heating load. In the radiator design can then automatically depending on the room type
individual radiator types and specific in the pipeline calculation connection types are specified. The air volume determination for HVAC systems in
the heating load and the air duct network calculation can be centrally managed through the room type.

We want to use this room types such as office, conference hall and toilet. If space types are not associated directly with the setting of the room
stamp is equal to a plurality of spatial temples, the space type to be assigned at a later stage by means of selection sets in a single step.

We first select a double click in the Room type field or

about the F2 key to Space Master Data Catalog.

Sign up with a double click on the symbol type " bu " or the button Take over the data for the office.

2. Choose from the toolbox

3. Move now to the office N001. Run over the lettering N001 with the crosshairs the
> > Lasso movement (1-2 small circles within ½ second).

If the lasso gesture is detected, a small animation above the word appears. The crosshairs is now in a small yellow tooltip N001.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

4th Now add a Double in office N001 a room stamp added. In the room name is now automatically N001 entered. Adding the space temple automatically
the data form opens on the left side.

5. The full flat number a space is composed of the Building Feature, the current Floor, of the
(Residential or office) unit and the flat number together. With each set of a space temple is automatically incremented the room number. Of course
you can intervene at any time and change the proposed flat number, such as when the order is not continuous or if, for example, is changed the unit.
The floor designation is automatically detected and taken from the building structure, so that it does not have to worry.

Apply for the room number following a name

Note: Unless the Data tab of the temple space, the space-Bez field is empty is also taken over the room name from the room master data catalog.

Now set for the remaining rooms Offices a room temple and perform the lasso gesture, to take over the room name. It is advantageous if you continue setting the
room stamp in ascending order, as you will then have to carry out any more changes to the room number. If the room stamp for all

Offices are set, select the type field space by double

"Corridor", and put a space temple in the stairwell. Then place a space temple in the hallway. Then select the space type "Tea kitchen", and put a space temple in
the room "Tea K N008". Do the same for the toilet and then for the conference room. Them referring please contact the labels of the rooms on the floor plan.

3.2.5. Providing the data

Insert North Arrow

For the heating / cooling load calculation and it is necessary to add a north arrow. About this Nordpfeil the location of the building is clearly defined.

1. Select the toolbar With a double click, you can use

begin defining the north. In the lower left corner of the floor plan you will find a template for the north arrow. Double-click the center of the template
and align the north arrow like that the arrow points down. Once you have aligned the north arrow in the right direction, click once to the north
direction finalize.

Note: Enable to align Ortho function in the status bar at the bottom of the screen to the north arrow on one of the main axes.

Show intermediate values in the heating load

Now the collection of data is completed the EC. In the same way, we could now work through the other floors. However, we want to show how this data already
collected are interpreted in the heating load initially.

1. To do this on the "Calc".

A dialog to generate the data can be restricted to individual floors. In addition, here, "Additional calculations" can be turned off to shorten the
calculation time. But this is only for very frequent (intermediate) generation and even for larger projects of importance. For the example image we will
stay with the already set properties.

Note Normally recognizes RaumGEO which neighbor room temperatures were set in the above and below floors and "automatically patches"
calculates the necessary. Also, the components are (U values) basically taken from the overlying floor to ceiling.

As long as the building is not fully covered, this neighborhood relationship can not be definitively identified. For example, is not yet processed the
underlying floor is called the floor "DL" or if lying set in the ground as "ERD". Lacking the overlying floor, RaumGEO interprets the ceiling first as
ROOF. The results in the heating load are thus only "intermediate values".

Once all floors of the building are covered, relations are automatically detected correctly - and the heating load thus recyclable.

2. Start the generation of data on the button

Third In the tab " Calc "Now flashes a red exclamation point and some indication messages appear - ignore this at first, we'll go into it later. However, if you
receive an alert with a red exclamation mark, double click on it to display the error in the drawing and fix the incorrect place.

4. With the so-called Quick-clicks on the right side of the toolbar, the heating load is called

5. Note the new tab "EN12831" for the heating load on the navigation bar at the top of the screen.

About this tabs you have ever overview of open projects and equipment. You can switch by clicking on one of these tabs between the program parts
herwechseln.

6. Now the last worked in the room geometry space is automatically set. All parts of the room are included. The calculation result can be read for the room
immediately.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

tip : When generating the data also a review of the drawing data. If errors are included in the drawing, you get an error list. It is recommended that
after the detection of a section from time to time perform a calculation.

3.2.6. global change

Now click in the navigation bar, click "RaumGEO" to go back into the building acquisition. All walls newly drawn, doors, windows, etc. received when generating
the U-value of "default values ..." unless there one is registered.

Consider more closely the interior is easy to see that some of the dashed lines are not congruent with the wall thickness on the architectural floor plan. Obviously
an incorrect component has been used herein. With a "global change" this can be corrected easily.

1. First create a selection set. Do this, select the toolbar and

click successively on the respective inner walls, or drag a box over the affected internal walls (if other objects, such as exterior walls, doors,
windows, etc. are in the select set it does not matter).

Note: There are two different methods over the drag from frame to form selection sets. If you draw a box from left to right, all objects are contained in
the selection set that are completely enclosed by the frame. Drag a box from right to left, all objects are contained that are touched by the frame.

2. Click the right mouse button on one of the selected interior walls and select from the popup menu "object data". Open the calculation component with a
further double-clicking the present component (TW2).

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

3. Click on the "Catalog" and take the "LBW" component.

4. The component calculation closes and you are back on the tab inside wall. Now click with the right mouse button on the newly acquired value "LBW" and
select from the mouse menu "Global change".

5. This will open the mask "Global change". previously because a selection set was created, the objects in question are already set to "selected".

OK with the change is performed, and all selected IW the "LBW" component assigned.

6th To check, click with the right mouse button on some of the selected interior walls and from the context menu object data. There, all the new
component "LBW" must be present.

7th Now run through the calculator top left of the toolbar a calculation. Ignore
continue the error messages. The dotted lines of the interior walls now match the wall lines of the plan.

3.2.7. radiator

So far we have recorded for the EC all the data required to generate the component data for the heating load. However, we want to think already a step already
prepare the radiator design. That is automatically provided in the radiator design before each window a radiator, we had already mentioned.

However, in the conference room no heater should be placed in front of a window.

1. Click you so that the associated data is displayed with the right mouse button on the designated window and select "object data" on the left of the
screen.

2. Turn off there in the data group, select Radiators provide for windows.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

3.2.8. additional radiator

In our project, but we will also provide for some interior rooms radiators, the position of equal

is located. You use , Again, you put on the orientation

the radiator location of the feed line firmly.

1. While displaying the EC in mh-RaumGEO.

2. Using a Double start adding an additional radiator. Move the crosshairs a small
little in the direction in which the heater is to be aligned. Now witness lines display the crosshairs. You have now, in addition to drawing the
crosshairs can enter the length of the radiator by hand. Tap in our example 0.65m (You can go tap, without needing to click into the field just that!)
And press Enter.

Draw the two additional radiators one as shown in the image. The length of the subscribed additional heater is used later in the radiator design as
the maximum radiator length.

3. Generate again using the "calculator" icon - check now whether below the rider
"Calc" error messages with a red exclamation mark are, and fix them. Yellow warning messages may continue to be ignored.

Tip: If you have not drawn the auxiliary heater exactly to the desired position, you can move it in the mode "Free movement (green crosshairs)" simply
by holding the left mouse button.

Note: In the pipe network calculation, the flow line is drawn with the thermostat valve on the side of the radiator later, is located at the RaumGEO in a
small red bar at the window or additional radiator.

,
You can swap the connection side afterwards, redraw without windows or additional radiator.

3.2.9. copy floor

Invest

Before we look at how the data are processed in the radiator design, an additional floor in the program module to space geometry are acquired. Since the floors
are often structured similarly in multi-storey buildings, it makes sense to copy the data.

1. If any items are included in the selection set will copy the floor the entire floor copied.

Therefore, select the function from the Edit menu or the

Toolbox to delete objects in the selection set that should be there be comprehensive.

2. Make sure that the floor selection for EC is safe set. Select the function copy stories

from the menu bar or the toolbox.

In the following dialog the current floor is gray because it is the source for copying. Select the check box for the 1ST FLOOR and stop the dialogue
with the OK Button. Now you get the message

Please run again on a calculation by, ignore warning messages.

Note: If only individual objects are copied to another floor, then before copying you create a selection set with these objects. If no selection set
present, all objects are copied of the floor.

Revise

Switch on the floor selection below the graphic in the first floor

On the 1st floor a few modifications need to be made now, but they are quickly dealt with by deleting individual objects or complete
newly added components. You can easily guided by the displayed floor plan. The changes are
in detail here
listed:

1. Room N 4 - Meeting:

On the ground floor two rooms are available here, so you delete the partition between these spaces, both interior doors and the right space temple.
To delete objects, you first create a selection set.

Choose to and click the left mouse button in succession to delete the
Objects. On the "Remove" button, the selected objects are deleted. Draw the new inner door.

If you accidentally select the wrong object, you can deselect this help from again.

Room N 7 - Land:

Delete the outer door

Room N 8 - Dressing room:

Delete the extra radiator. For individual objects, you can click and directly select "Delete object" with the right mouse button on the red dot in the
center of the radiator.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

Click with the right mouse button on the room stamp, select by double-clicking the room type "neb" (next room).

2. Generate via the "Calculator" icon (To perform a control of the drawing data).

3. The "rooms Delete" dialog opens now. The previously deleted space of the former office N 005 still exists in space book, however, no room temple is
gone. This is automatically checked - you must now confirm "Delete All" only on that this room should really be deleted from the room book.

4. Click after generation with the right mouse button on the 1st floor to the punch of the new meeting room and choose from the menu " Property Data ". Make
left in the data form the FB (floor) Reiter one.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

In the calculation, it was found that there are on the ground floor below this room two rooms. The floor surface is therefore divided into two
sub-areas, and each separately cyan displayed. In the heating load also two floor components are listed. Using the arrow symbols you can switch
back and forth between the subareas.

3.2.10. Create attic

extend building structure

1. In the building structure, the attic is yet not included. therefore open left with the tab

" building " the

and enter here in the first free line data For the attic one.
Pay particular attention to the specification of Above floor FB soil ER, is always drawn on the floor level as in RaumGEO. The floor height to here
(including the roof) and the ceiling height 4.00m
3.75m, respectively. Pay attention to the schematic representation of the building at the bottom of the building structure - here the floor has been
added. When closing the mask, the bullets are sorted according to their height above the ground and displayed at the next opening in the correct
order.

Second Close the building structure With OK. The following message

points out that after a change to the building structure to generate must be carried out "forcibly". click on Conclude and click on the tab " Calc ".
Activate the option "Changed floor heights / Page name correct.

Third Click now ,

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

Important NOTE: The height FB changed on ER in the building structure, first the existing components need to be moved to this new height. Serves
the generate with the "Altered floor heights correct".

The building structure is not only in RaumGEO available, but also in all other modules (heating load, RohrSYS, SanSYS, ...). The data registered in it
are valid for the entire project. Changes to the building structure thus have an impact on other calculations!

Assigning plan

Open the tab " building " , Enter the field name "attic"
and assign the new Floor to floor plan "Mh_dg.dwg" too. Right-click the green flashing area

, Now you can close the mask.

Copy components from the lower floor

First, go back to the first floor.

The attic should receive a slightly different division, which is why also incurred some changes. Therefore, we take on a selection set only the lower part of the
floor.

1. Select the function from the toolbar and drag a box from the left
top to bottom right across the lower portion of the ground floor up to the staircase. Make sure that the top of the window and flat temples are not
included in the selection.

2. The function Object Selection + is still active. Drag a box, this time from the bottom right to left
above , On the right lower side of the building and yet another via the Gebäudeeck in the middle.

3.2.12. Create roof
With RaumGEO almost any roofs with dormers and windows can be created.

An ornate roof structure can be found for example in the enclosed "EXAMPLE" project.
There are also on our website some movies that show you the basic procedure when creating roofs and dormers. It is recommended to inform themselves in this
way in advance.

In this introductory example, a simple roof will now be drawn:

1. Select the function from the tools and enable

Start at the right edge of first drawing with a double click and draw clockwise total of four polygonal lines on.

2. Click the right mouse button on the red roof line and select "object data". At the corners of their current altitude is displayed. At the same time 3 vertices
are marked.

In the tab top surface (on the left side of the page) can vary the position of the roof above the height of these vertices. (The position of the three
points can be with you in the drawing differ). Look for

the ridge line at a height of 10,00m and for the roof to the eaves a height of 6.00m. In "wall distance to the roof skin" (meaning the thickness of the
roof) enter 0.25m.

3. Select again from the toolbox and draw the lower

Half of the roof as shown. also arise for the second half of the roof must be a closed polygon, that is, the first line is 'wicked' here. Start drawing best
in a corner where no other roofline is present, for example, at the point marked "3" at the bottom position. In order to draw the slope roof line must ORTHO

The height determination of point 2 in our case is unfavorable (to you it may look quite different), so its location is moved using the arrow icons to the
left in the data form.

First is aligned m here to 10.0, but the facade side m to a height of 8.0. Lay purchased as the highlights as well.

4. Generate via the "Calculator" icon , Rotate the view to the isometric by the
holding down the space bar and the mouse wheel and move the mouse. Consider by repeatedly pressing the button F9 your work in volume
rendering. Alternatively, in the navigation bar at " RaumGEO Select "tab from the drop-down box, select the display type.

In the heating load the daughters are not recognized and therefore not calculated. All components of the father / daughter-rooms are listed
with the Father, where the heating load is calculated and output.

3.3. calculate heat load

By pressing a button you can generate from the room geometry, the spatial data for the heating load (or cooling load). The addition of further data for the heating
load is done by powerful commands in a short time. In the mh-software is a direct link between the Heizlastdaten with the spatial geometry. Thereby lost for
subsequent changes any data. Anytime you can add more space in the room geometry or change existing rooms or summarize.

With simple means you prepare any data by "coloring" the room geometry graphically. Here the rooms, for example, colored according to their specific heating
load. So input errors or critical planning situations are quickly analyzed and resolved.

3.3.1. complete project data for heating load

only one building overall calculation must be performed for the heating load. Go to the tab in Heizlastmodul Building.

The building load is in the sub-dialog calculation determined. Start the calculation using the button To calculate.
After a few seconds the heating load is calculated for the entire building and is represented graphically. in the tab Characteristics ventilation receive detailed
information about the ventilation heat loss.

3.3.3. navigation
As you can see, the navigation is both the tree structure in the heating load as possible about the graphics of the room geometry.

Set any space in the heating load. By clicking on the tab in the
Navigation bar, the space immediately displayed on the graph. Of course, you can also use the right mouse button

Data Form View any component in RaumGEO and click. Now, not only the
corresponding space opened in the heating load, also the line of the selected previously in RaumGEO component is in the table view marked.

You can also change space and component data at will either RaumGEO or the heating load.

If you want to capture other components in the heating load manually, which can not be drawn on the graph, you add these components simply manually in the
heating load on the lower end of the components produced by RaumGEO. Even if you have to modify the data of the room graphically later in the room geometry,
for example, add additional windows or move a wall, so the manual in the heating load captured data is retained.

3.3.4. analysis examples

The chamber geometry can be used to change data not only. Also for analyzing data input or calculation results it is ideal.

3.3.4.1. Analysis of transmission heat losses of individual components

Now click on the tab " Calc "And check the box" analysis turn ". Here the choice between "Predefined" and "Custom" analysis parameters is possible.

Now click on "Predefined" and select "component transmission loss" from. Switch to the 3D volume model, turn the view in any isometric view and select from the
floor selection right below "everything" from. Now you see that the individual components of their small building are shown in color. Links you get a color key that
you about summarizes the transmission losses associated values. Blue hues show them low, red shades are high grade.

For a better overview to get over the individual stories, you can use the tab " building " the " equalization Enable ". To do this, under the heading " visibility " on " equalization

To disable equalization and system analysis again, quit in the bottom left of the data screen using the red the two modes.

Switch from the "3D" representation back into the "System" display.

3.3.4.2. Analysis of standard internal temperatures

In addition to selecting the tab " Calc "It means you can also access directly from the data mask a room or part of the analysis. Change View any room temple to
the ground floor and check all the data mask. Find the "standard internal temperature" under the "heat load" in the first line. Click the right mouse button on the
numerical value and select "Analysis" from the context menu.

Now the mask of network analysis opens. Make sure that the right mask area, the "Auto" button. Threshold determination "is enabled.

Click OK. The EC is colored, a legend is displayed again left to the different temperature values.

If no graphic is displayed, a calculation must be performed first. Just click on "Calculate". Click on the highest value in the graph, the space will jump with the
largest area-related heating power. Now switch on the navigation bar back to the room geometry

The space is represented already highlighted.

Further analysis of options

The scenarios presented here are only a small insight into the range of graphical analysis. You should be well acquainted with the powerful theme analysis
because it can bring you in your daily work tremendous relief. Be it efficiently uncover in plausibility questions or possible to easily input errors. You can display
all input values and calculation results graphically. Just call in RaumGEO any data mask of any object on and analyze interesting values.

3.4. radiator design

Note In this Preliminary example of the spatial geometry of the module mh-RaumGEO particular addressing the processing and functions. We
assume that the user has the functions of the corresponding modules such as already mastered the radiator design mh-HkCALC. Please refer to the
respective separate manuals For more information on these modules.

With the data from the room geometry and the heating load set in no time radiator, being used for the individual room types individual radiators for the
interpretation (eg plate heating unit of a given product for offices, convectors, conference rooms, ...).

Of course, individual adjustments are easily possible here. All subsequent changes, such as the height or the product is done in a few moments.

Now let us turn to the radiator design, we use the Quick Clicks Create new top right
or open. As will be scheduled depending on the room type individual radiator, the rider opens
Project Data / Initialization.

There the desired radiator (manufacturer and product) can be selected for each room type (= group), as well as the design temperatures and the layout mode can
be set.

In addition, can be defined for each group individual constraints. To do this, first to the desired group, so that the entire line (as in the picture above for group
"bu") is stored. Now can range
to be observed dimensions for group "bu" Be made more information such as maximum length. Then select one after each group and each carry a additional
constraints. The radiator catalog can be opened with a double click in the "Pricing".

Water heaters should be designed with the following conditions (tv / tr and mode are applied as already entered):

The mandatory dimensions refer to the radiator size. Therefore click for each group on the "heater size" before you enter the dimensions.

The line proposal remains free in our example. This can be used when the conditions for a large part of all room types are the same. The data are stored there,
and "transferred" by clicking copied to all room types.

After these data are all collected, just click on the button Initialize, which takes place the interpretation of the radiator for the entire project. Just go to any room, to
display to the designed radiators.

You can of course always individually engage and display on the boundary conditions other radiators in the leaderboard or directly select a desired radiator.

Important :

the reference is made to RaumGEO about initializing. This is indicated by the RG ID (see picture above). The RG ID is necessary so that the radiator
can then be automatically placed in the pipe network calculation. If you want to change the designed radiators, simply modify the relevant data, but
you should never remove the radiator completely and lay by hand Otherwise, the RG ID is lost and the heating element can not be placed
automatically.

A complete overview of the designed radiators available through the radiator list:

As you have seen from this example is a radiator design using the room types on the " Initialize "Done in no time.

3.5. Pipeline calculation

By pressing a button you place automatically in complete building the laid heating elements from the windows, or to the pre-defined spatial position (eg interior

put record of the valve design available. After drawing the distribution pipes, radiators are automatically linked. Also the assigning of materials (pipes, insulation,
valves) can be done quickly thanks to powerful commands, so that after a short time are present calculation results.

The "coloring" of the network helps here in the analysis of any data. No residual pressures may be present in a balanced network.

mh-RohrSYS calculates any residual pressures and features over the network analysis, the sections affected by color. You the weaknesses of the current design
are thus shown and you can specifically find the cause about the graphics and correct. The inking of the residual pressures is of course only one example of
many types of analysis, with speed, mass flow, material etc. offers almost unlimited display options.

Note In this Preliminary example of the spatial geometry of the module mh-RaumGEO particular addressing the processing and functions. We assume that the
user has the functions of the corresponding modules such as already dominates the pipeline calculation mh-RohrSYS. Please refer to the respective separate
manuals For more information on these modules.

• • Draw the line between staircase and conference room towards the office and perform the lasso gesture now on the wall between the office and conference
room N001 through. Click once at the crossing point. Draw normally. Proceed to the sloping walls as well as to the orthogonal - as soon as you want to
draw on the next wall, do the lasso gesture and use the intersection again for guidance. Draw on the radiators over and then draw on the outside wall of the
conference room along and quit the drawing at the height of the toilet with a double click.

• • To supply the floor completely with distribution lines, are still missing the connections for the tea kitchen and toilet. Draw the lines a as shown in the image.
Make use of the correct distance from the wall again, the lasso gesture to display a guide. The intersection of the auxiliary line with the drawn pipe is their
tether - double-click here with the left mouse button to start drawing. Perhaps the return is now on the wrong side - with pressed Ctrl - key to change the
location of the return.

In preparation for future platforms point you draw now of the tea kitchen a line into the stairwell. And the pipeline should roughly look like this:

Here, the great advantage of showing mh-software compared to tabular or tree structures working calculation programs. The lines are optically transferred directly
into the floor plan - and directly related to the building. The removal of trade fairs and manually entering cable length is not complete. it is not necessary also to
establish logical links in the table between the individual strands of wire. They are characterized by simple means only the tube guide - without tedious and
error-prone abstraction in the tabular presentation. Each line represents an object with the associated data. The cable lengths are then automatically. The pipe
links automatically generates mh-RohrSYS. So you can fully concentrate on the constructive task.

3.5.3. Create upper floors
Before we connect the radiator to the connecting lines, the distribution lines should be drawn in the other floors. For this we use again a special copy function to
copy the EG in the other upper floors to the already drawn distribution lines.

Since the radiator should not be copied, create a selection set of all supply and return lines.

To do this, the functions and click on the appropriate lines or draw

1. Data entry

For data entry, call the data screen where you click with the right mouse button and select an object from the context menu "object data".

In some forms, the data are summarized multiple objects. For example, radiators and their valves are displayed in a mask. When the corresponding supply and
return lines are known in a calculation both tubes are also displayed in a mask. To do this, a tab of the desired data.

Call first, the data on some pipes or the drawn radiators or valves. The data from the default values mask have already been registered and can be subsequently
changed now. Please note that the performance of the radiator will be displayed only after the first calculation.

The following values must be supplemented:

mixer

1. Click with the right mouse button on the 3-way mixer and select "Object Data". With a double in one of the fields Manufacturer, valve type or Fitting
type call the valve catalog.

2. Choose a 3-way valve, eg Heimeier, Fittings for fixed resistors ( Index 5) Fittings Type 91 3 ways-
Switching valve. Double-click on the valve type, or by clicking " Take over" The abbreviations are transferred to the data mask.

3. The DN value, they leave because the nominal size is to be determined by the program. You can change the values for well t-flow and t-return set free. In
this case, the temperatures of the start object are automatically entered, as will be discussed later (see also 3-way mixer ).

3.5.6. connect radiators

After all risers and distribution lines are drawn, only the radiators must now be connected. Again, there is a special function. The procedure is simple and quick
performed:

1. Let the complete network view and select an isometric view.

2. Create a selection set ,

3. Select from the menu To edit • connect radiators

4. Double-click on any red supply line all the radiators in the selection set are automatically connected to the distribution line.

Note All objects in the selection set are displayed in a pale color. The normally red supply line is therefore difficult to detect. However, once you touch
an object with the mouse, the original color is displayed.

3.5.7. delete open pipe ends

During automatic tying open pipe ends are left, which now need to be removed. To do this, select the menu item Edit the sub-item delete open ends.

In the dialog that opens, select all open tube ends

After the dialog with the button OK have closed all the (short) pipe ends are removed automatically.

Remember to save the project now and then.

3.5.8. To calculate
Before a first calculation can be performed, some general data must be set for the network.

1. From the menu Start data object (pipe network data) or click with the right mouse button on the
Start object.

2. The heat transfer is defined as default on H2O. Enter the temperatures for t forward and t return With
70 ° C and 50 ° C on. Enter the remaining data exactly as shown in the image. (See also pipe network data / start object)

3. Now click on the icon on the toolbar to start the calculation. If you error free the network
drawn and the data entered as described, no error messages are displayed and you can view the results.

4. If (s) the message

receive, run the automatic deletion of open pipe ends by again.

5. You may receive messages

Double-click one of these messages - the data form one of the strainer in the first distributor outlet is called. The pipe was dimensioned as DN10, but
in the Component Catalog is no definition for a strainer in DN10. Double-click in the "DN" and choose the lower-right table DN15 with a double-click.

Note : If RohrSYS discovered mistakes, they are collected and in Reiter reports displayed in a list. Double-clicking on an error message, the fault is
displayed. When you click on an error message and F1 press, you get a further explanation of the current error (see error messages).

Fix the problems described above and repeat the calculation.

6. After successful calculation should definitely out the string data to be viewed as. This mask opens
automatically, if this is set in the calculation dialogue like this.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

The string data will provide a concise overview of the pressure conditions in the network. The strand with the greatest pressure drop is paramount.
The highest pressure drop in each strand is marked in yellow. The associated object is displayed together with the train in the background in the
graphic. the train data is closed via the Close button.

7th Now you can view the calculation results of the individual objects. As with the object data entry, call the accompanying data mask with a click of the
right mouse button on an object. In the start object, the most important data are issued that affect the entire network.

Note: If red error messages, the calculation could Not be performed. The results have been issued may in no way be considered and evaluated. Only
when you can perform a calculation without red error messages that calculation results are recyclable. Yellow warning messages, however, may or
may not be edited.

3.5.9. Balance of the strands
To carry out the adjustment of the network not only through the thermostatic valves and radiator fittings, usually balancing valves are used.

1. Let the EC in plan view and zoom in on the area around the two risers.

2. Select and placing one valve icon to the

Floor outlets.

3. click button with the right mouse button on one of the just-drawn valves in the flow of the data.

4. Double-box manufacturers, the valve opens catalog. Select an orifice valve, eg Honeywell / Hon, valve type 4, type of fitting 12 (Combined 3-plus red
VL).

5. Assign the adjacent return valve, a balancing valve to such Honeywell / Hon, valve type 4, type of fitting 16 (Combined 3-plus blue RL). Also make sure
that the option "all throttle" is enabled. Otherwise, no preference would be calculated and remain the valve "open".

6. Do the same with the other two valves.

7. From the toolbox and click on the four valves in order

to form a selection set.

8. Copy the valves on floor copying to the first floor.

9. Click the icon on the toolbar . to start the calculation.

10. Check the calculated valve settings. To do this, right-click on a valve. In Data Group results is the attitude displayed.

3.5.10. power analysis

Do you want to get an overview of the default settings of thermostatic valves? The inked network is worth a 1000 words. Click the Right on any thermostatic valve.
On the left side of the data of this valve will be displayed.

Choose a right-click on the result of the field attitude the menu item - analysis from the context dialogue. It opens the dialogue Network analysis. The output of
the calculated setting is already preset. AUTO LIMIT DETERMINATION

A legend below the rider Calc shows which setting associated with the colors.

Do you want to see the temperature drop in the supply lines? Select from the Result Group any part of the track with Right T emperature (t).

In this way, all input and output values can be analyzed graphically in seconds.

Click the bottom left of to complete the network analysis.

3.5.11. Direction of flow analysis

For large, complex networks, it is sometimes difficult to understand in which direction the media flow. In the area of analysis, you have the option to display the
flow directions in mh-BIM. To do this in the "analysis" the hook In "flow direction".

It points to run the system lines in the direction of flow along, comparable to an ant road.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

If you additionally set the hook in and click on eg a pipe, only the flow direction of will
this pipe up to the start object displayed.

Disable the flow direction display.

3.6. plans

The subscribed pipe network can be labeled with any data yet now, such as the pipe sizes, valve settings, radiators dimensions, etc. Powerful commands make it
easier to place the label flags.

With the paper plan management, you are able to produce several different views. You must not be limited to the "classical" representation in plan view it. The
output of 3-dimensional isometric drawings offer completely new ways of presenting as well as additional information for the execution, such as the type of
connectors on the radiators. Also Versprünge and the positions of the risers fall more striking in this illustration.

An export mask, you can export all your predefined paper plans into common file formats. In addition to traditional DWG and PDF exports, and exports to
AutoCAD® MEP and Revit®MEP are possible. Likewise, you can export your mh-planning as IFC file. The software mh-in plans drawn up to your company
convention are referenced, which you have created in your "favorite" dental CAD system to a suitable layout. Finished the detailed design.

3.6.1. labeling
So far we have dealt with the input, calculation and analysis of data. Data output mh-BIM provides powerful functions for labeling - and output data. You can
create either completely individual labels, or use the generic label that is used in the mh-software as standard.

For printing or for the control of some data on the screen, the objects can be equipped with the "default label". Although a variety of data for labeling is available,
should always only one or two values are output as the standing for a caption available space in the drawing is very limited. If you select more values, the
workspace is cluttered with labels so that nothing will be visible. Although you may change the font size, the overview is quickly lost in a too large amount of data.
Less is sometimes more.

First, we lie in the paper plan administration an EC plan.

1. Let the pipe network on the ground floor show and go to the top view.

Second

3. Go to the left of the data screen for riders plans and click New.

4. Name the plan "Heizung_EG". Leave the remaining settings as specified. Confirm your entry by clicking on the button OK. The plan has been created.

In the next step we want to prepare the output of the radiator data.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

5. Select to just created plan in the paper plans.

6. Make sure that "Default label" is selected as the label variant of "hooks show the

Scale ... "and then click on ,

7. Select the tab "Default label for paper plan" the Radiator.

8. Select Manufacturer and Product.

9. If you switch to the tab "general labeling requirements", you find the same list of labeling options in the tab above. You will also find the manufacturer and
the product. The text in the description to be set in the label just prior to the associated value. You can also change our proposed names and enter
your own text.

10. Close the mask with OK. The plan you have selected label contents are now visible.

11. Close the mask with OK. Do not scare - at first glance, the label may

very unstructured. Now click below the tab "plans" on ,

12. Set the options as shown and click "Execute".

13. If the number of labels issued to is great, you can turn off individual "flags". Select this> from the menu caption> a / and click on the objects or the flags
that should not be labeled.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

14. About the "different" tool below the tab "plans" you can label flags if desired position by hand.

Note: Do not confuse "lettering on / off", the impact on individual objects, not with "all on / off", with the label side or from peeled whole.

3.7. Subsequent changes

Imagine the following situation: you have edited a project already completed and only have to work in a "small change", as the architect on the south facade now
want to install another window with a different U value of the project.

With mh-RaumGEO this is not a problem. Directly in the graphic make a selection set of objects to be changed together. Then you can replace all the windows of
this selection set by other windows. The changes are immediately available in the heating load and cooling load calculation available - no separate data transfer!
everything is done in a few seconds. How long have you had this hand with traditional programs? This is just one of countless examples that are elegantly solved
only with a "real" CAE system. Changed data affect all planning steps. A change in the spatial geometry not only affects the calculation results of the heating and
cooling load in. With a few clicks new radiators are designed, in turn, are taken into account immediately and without further reworking the pipework calculation.

3.7.1. change south facade

The room geometry is highly suitable also for other things. We now want to replace all the windows on the south side by other windows from the component
catalog. Using the spatial geometry no problem.

1. First, we take all windows on all floors of the south facade in a selection set.

2. Set the view on everything

3. Create a selection set over the entire south facade. To do this, the function

4. Use the right mousekey any window from the south facade. The Dates- Mask on the left
Page opens.

5. With the help of a double click on the component abbreviation BT or the F2 Button to enter the component catalog.
Highlight below the rider Catalog the new short name S3W and one wearing a height of 0.95 m. By clicking on Take over the short name is
transferred to the window.

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

Press 6. Then, with a right-click in the component short name from the pop-up menu
in point Global change ... The following dialog closed with the button OK.

7th In seconds, these windows are replaced. Now you can see the results - click with the right mouse button on a room stamp of any area on the south
side.

8. Open with top right of the screen or on the already opened tab the
Heating load. The last selected space will be displayed immediately in the heating load.

Although the changes have been made within the module chamber geometry, a "handoff" to the heating load or the cooling load is not necessary.

The changes are all calculations immediately available. This is holistic working on the project and only works with integrated systems.

How long have you had this hand with a conventional software? And you would then have been sure to have actually made the change in all relevant
areas?

3.8. Volume Rendering

Will you like to see your work to date three-dimensional solid model as?

Just press several times F9. Each time you press the display of system after system + Wireframe, after two graduations, according wireframe, by volume model,
according to texture model, and so on system changes ...

With the shortcut SHIFT + F9 You can reverse the display order. If several trades are open simultaneously, all objects are displayed. If radiators and pipes
currently not displayed

are set in the tab the hook.

Uncheck . to throw a glance into the "inner workings" of the building - switch
For example, the EC.

1.1. define cut

to define cut-outs is another powerful help. You can have only certain parts of a building show - with large construction projects can be "cut out" a slice of the
building to a better overview to gain over this part and construct without disturbing, lying in the field of view objects!

Switch to the top view. Below the tab "building" You go to the "Out".

• copyright MH software GmbH MH BIM software

By clicking on "New" you can cut out a rectangular area of the building. Select a single click the first point of the rectangle out. Click once, and then define the
second point. Now you can "span" the rectangle and set the depth. With another click you have determined to be isolated area.

If you are satisfied with your selection, you can save this snippet by clicking on the "Save" button. Enter only another name for the neck and you can call this cut
again and again.

Experiment necessarily with this feature! You can create many interesting views imaginable. You can also change the height by adjusting the corresponding floor
or "everything".

3.9. Experiment!

Congratulations! If you have completely worked through the introductory example, you are a big step forward. The essential features you have come to know and
thus have the tools to own first tentative steps.

You should check with your building initially perform some 'experiments', to know better about the capabilities of the program to learn.

You can also learn one after all commands in the menus, the toolbox and the toolbar know. Please refer to the manual or online help and experiment!
