Tasneem Borhany
My name is Dr Tasneem Borhany and I passed my MRCGP INT in the year 2007. While
preparing for my MRCGP [INT], I realized that this is an exam of high caliber and this
motivated me more towards my ambition in general practice. After clearing it, I felt a change
in my practice which became more evidence based and confident. I joined a government
hospital and left Aga Khan University. Due to my MRCGP [INT], I dealt with the cases of family
medicine in the OPD and my internal medicine colleagues would eagerly refer them to me.
MRCGP [INT] made me stand tall among my peers as I finally decided to establish my own
practice. My communication towards my patients reflected the training that I received while
preparing for my MRCGP [INT]. I also joined community health committee and school health
services. A breakthrough came when I was selected as an examiner for MRCGP [INT] South
Asia and felt honored. My struggle to impart the concept of family medicine among masses
and to educate patients regarding common health issues is moving on and I will continue to
do so.
